Too big and baggy
I have a slim frame. I ordered a size 2, and these still were baggy and completely unflattering. They look cute in the picture, but in person, they didn't work at all, at least not for me. I ended up returning them.

COMPLETE WINNERS!
I am 5'4" with a 26 inch waist (natural waist) and 30 inch hips (low hip near saddle bag area) and weigh around 115 (depending on the month.. rolling my eyes!). I bought a 2 petite in wrought iron, french walnut and celestial blue after purchasing the Market Pants in the same colors. These are just as flattering as the pants! The rise is about 6 inches (a couple of inches below the navel, modest enough for those of us that have had children with a little pouch but not that awful up to your armpits rise). The length, with the cuffs rolled, hits mid-thigh (I prefer a 7 inch inseam and these are spot on to cover what's not attractive while revealing only what is...). The pants do stretch a bit after wearing so I assume the shorts will, as well....which, to me, would be fine because the shape will allow that while still maintaining a fun, flattering fit with the drawstring waist and tapered legs... it gives my derriere a cute little rounded shape and believe me, I need all the help I can get these days!). The weight of the material is on the lighter side and you can tell these will become really soft over time. The colors are true. These will be great with flip flops and sneakers and would work for trips to the beach, water park, store and in the garden. I'm pitching the pile of shorts and summer pants that just missed the mark in my closet and making these my new staple! Lands End does it again! Thank you!

Odd shape
These are a nice material but not wearable. They're boxy with no difference between waist and hip and the rise is too short. They feel as if they're going to fall off even with the draw string because the waist is just too low to sit where tightening the top is possible.

Fit Issues
I really like the fabric of these shorts and the quality of construction but the fit is odd to me. I am 5'4" with a regular rise. These shorts were 2" below my navel. It was impossible to pull them up and adjust the fit as suggested in the product description because the rise was a close cut already. I have two pair of LE drawstring shorts that are 20 yr old. I still wear them. The fit, material and quality were all perfect and allowed for adjustments without compromising the rise. I would like to say that @ 63 my figure is perfect and that I can attractively wear shorts/pants that drop down 2" past the navel but it would be an untruth. In fact, I see very few females, regardless of age, who look good in the low/modern cut. Unless you are model thin or willing to suit up in foundation garments/girdles to contain your jiggles, belly rolls and muffin tops then this fit just exposes your flaws.

Just too big
The shorts were cute and comfortable, but WAY too big. I ordered a 2 petite and they practically fell off of me. I was disappointed that this was the smallest size they offered. I measure between a 2 and a 4 according to the fit guide.

Love Them
Perfect length with the little cuff. Waist line sits just below the waist. Very cute. Love the fabric. I bought the white and brown, may get the navy.

too small
I usually wear an 18 in jeans, so I thought an 18 in these would work. I couldn't even pull them up all the way. Much too small. Nice material and styling, however.

Comfortable and cute
These shorts have a very comfortable fit, and the fabric is delightfully soft. I haven't washed them yet, so I don't know about any shrinkage.
