a nice alternative to chambray I liked this shirt when I saw it on sale online, since I've been taken with the look of chambray shirts worn with belted skirts. Chambray can come in a range of colors, but so far I've only seen medium blue for sale. Until this, which isn't really chambray but approximates the light-denim texture and tonality (albeit with a bit of a sheen). So I ordered it in the Crushed Grape in my usual 1X, and it's worked out beautifully for tucking in. Yes, it's a bit roomy; that goes along with the (slightly) dropped shoulders. But reining in the fullness with a defined waist has worked well for me. Since the skirts I've been wearing it with are fitted at the waist and flare out on the bias, I haven't had a problem with there being too much material underneath. May 4, 2013
I don't believe this is 100% cotton I love the color of this top (crushed grape). But it has a weird feel to it. One reviewer said it was like a size 10 back sewn to a size 12 top. I agree with that- it pulls (or something) when you reach or lift your arms. And the fabric, to me, feels like a linen / cotton blend. The placket and top of pockets got quite wrinkly when washed. With all my cotton tops I dry for just a few minutes to relax wrinkles, then air dry. This top was still a litlle wrinkly after that. But, it doesn't look bad, just casual. I'd still recommend it, but only at a good sale price. April 27, 2013
Nice casual top Fabric is nice - can't see thru it. Washes and wears well. Looks good with jeans and leggings. Wish they had it in white. I ordered my usual size PM and the fit was perfect - roomy without looking sloppy. Glad I bought it. April 18, 2013
Verdict still out I have tried on this shirt a few times since it arrived, and I'm still not sure what to do with it. It's a cute style, especially with the sleeves rolled up. But because of the "relaxed" fit and long shirt tail, it does have a bit of a painting smock feel to it. I'm not exactly sure what to pair the top with to avoid a sloppy look. But I like it enough to keep it and try to make a cute outfit. April 16, 2013
Too Short for a Tunic Might work on a slimmer figure. If you have a stomach issue-it doesn't hang as nice April 16, 2013
Very baggy This is an odd fitting shirt. Fits big and long. I also found the fit odd - tight across the shoulders in the back and really baggy in the front - like a size 10 back was sewn to a size 12 front. The fabric is OK but wrinkles easily. This shirt was returned. April 14, 2013
Love the Fabric The cut and fabric are great but the shirt is oversized. I will have to reorder in smaller size. April 13, 2013
NOT a tunic I wanted to review the shirt just to give my view of the fit because it is different from some of the other reviewers. It is a boxy shirt and that part of the fit is as it is described by Lands End. It is not supposed to be fitted. The dropped shoulders are part of the name of the shirt--so that is to be expected, too--it is oversized in that regard. I ordered my true size. If I'd ordered down I do not think it would have looked good through the arms. Given the easy fit of the shirt, I wish that it was a tunic--it would be more flattering with that longer line. As it is, the front hits me at the hip, which isn't ideal. But I think I'll enjoy the shirt--it is a comfortable fit and fabric. April 4, 2013
Too wrinkly, unflattering trait First off, the fit was big. Not a problem if you know ahead of time and can just order a size smaller. This top was attractive to me at first. But It wrinkles so easily that it looks like you slept in it after just a couple of hours. Worse, after washing, it's so wrinkled that you just have to iron it. And I'm definitely not an ironing kind of gal. Also, it has a styling trait that's unflattering. The buttons only go down halfway, and, after that, the material used for the button area just opens up and blouses out. This has the effect of a pleat right in front of your stomach. I found it unattractive. This can actually be seen some on the model picture with the description. March 20, 2013
Light and comfortable Big tunic but looks dressy. I really like it a lot on me and find it extremely comfortable. Material is light but no need for a camisole underneath. Too bad I do not like the other color it comes in! February 18, 2013
