Pretty Good Deal on Sale
Only ordered because of sale price. It does run big, I would normally wear an XL but ordered this in large. The wool is so soft, and warm which is surprising because of its' light weight. Looks great with high boots, opague tights and long cardigan (if you have areas it cilngs to).

Not for me
This dress is beautifully soft, and the black color is a nice, deep black. The cable knit in the upper half of the dress is a nice touch and adds some visual interest. I ordered down a size and the length in the skirt and the sleeves is perfect, and plenty of room in the arms. However, as a pear shape, some shift dresses just don't work for me, and this was one of them. It showed every lump and bump despite not being tight or clingy, and the v-neck wasn't deep enough to look flattering to my chest. I had high hopes for this dress but I had to return it.

My absolutely favorite dress for this fall and winter
When I was young and thin I had several knit dresses that I loved. I really thought that there wouldn't be a knit dress which would look good on me now. Wrong. This dress-in 1X-looks great on me. I bought two, loved them so much I bought the other two colors. I got a compliment the other day while wearing the black one with black tights, silver jewelry and a grey and black checked scarf. My office is so cold in the summer that I have been wearing them to work since I got them in August. With different scarves, or with a leather jacket, they look like different dresses. I also have a braided black tie with various bits of old jewelry hanging from it which looks great on the black one. Somehow, they show my figure without showing my bumps and bulges.
One caveat. I am used to washing my wool things with Woolite, on delicate cycle in the machine and hanging them to dry. But I have a new front loader. Its delicate cycle isn't delicate enough for these. The two I washed that way did not shrink and are still wearable, but they don't feel as soft. They really are hand wash/dry clean. Or maybe the old fashioned top loader delicate would be delicate enough for them. Not my HE machine. So do be careful washing them.

Runs tooo big!
I ordered two of these dresses ( grey and green) in xs. I should have known better. I'm 5 51/2 inches tall and weigh 109 and all of Lands end dresses are always too big. Even the arms were too long! I can wear an xxs in Canvas, but none of the Lands End women's clothes ever fit. I'm not a teenager and I would like to buy appropriate clothes for my age and Canvas is sometimes too young in their designs. The thing is I don't have this problem anywhere else I shop. I'm a small at Gap and Banana Republic, not even an extra small. The same goes for most other stores. Why does Lands End clothes run sooo big????

I like this dress
It fits a bit larger than expected, but a belt will fix that. The merino wool is very soft, and not at all scratchy. I think it would look great with dark tights and boots this winter.
