Women's Knit A-line Midcalf Skirt 3.2 5 17 17
comfortable skirt, easy wear. I was sad when the longer knit skirts you used to carry were discontinued. They were a thicker knit, hung beautifully and smoothed the body line. I liked the longer length too for sitting comfortably. The fold-down waist design which came next did not work well for this plus sized person--material too thin, the fold down waist did not stay folded down and skirt was too short for real comfort, especially in cooler weather. I was very happy to see this new design and am pleased with it. I like the fabric, it's easy to wear, thick enough to hang well, but thin enough to not be hot. You just wash it and hang it and it goes with everything. This skirt's length works well. (If you made a longer version, I would buy that too!) . Very comfortable. I did find the waist to be a bit larger than other same-size LE items. This skirt will spend a lot of time OUT of my closet. More colors please! One overall LE request: I know some will sell out, but please begin with ALL colors for ALL sizes in ALL your products. May 13, 2013
frumpy =( no no and no. VERY flared, sized down as advised. Stick with your normal size if you dare risk it. going back immediately. May 11, 2013
Waist too large but material is wonderful It's going back, but I regret parting with it. The material is wonderful. It's about 3 inches too wide at the waist. I should have know that because I have always had a bit slimmer waist compared to my hip size, so maybe you won't have a difficulty with it at all. If it had a bit of elastic I probably could have worn it, but as is I think it will be right for a limited number of customers. May 11, 2013
Excellent basic skirt Fits well, hangs well, well-constructed. I wish it came in more colors! May 11, 2013
NEEDS POCKETS Thanks - this is a great skirt - the right length and a great material. It still NEEDS POCKETS please - there are those of us who simply like the basics! May 11, 2013
Excellent, Comfortable Skirt Comfortable, fits well, good quality. Despite that these are described as "terry" the material does not look that casual, and is quite acceptable for daily wear. I went back on the web site to buy more of the same colors and other colors but was disappointed to see that they were sold out. Please carry these again. May 1, 2013
Land's End you are nearly there! I love this skirt and would have ordered it in every colour if they weren't sold out. I was told this item sold out beyond expectations. Could it be that plus size women do appreciate more coverage of legs and to be able to be comfortable sitting down in a skirt that gives some degree of modesty? I had to order a size smaller because there is too much fabric in the skirt. With ample stretch in the fabric you do not need so much of it to be able to sit down comfortably. I agree it could be a smidge longer - I loved the midi skirt - but this is the best I have seen from Land's End so far. Keep up the effort. The fabric is a great weight and feels nice but I agree that it is a bit too casual looking for work. However it is great for everyday casual. Hope you will be getting more stock soon. It would be great to see a revised version for fall and winter in a wool knit or blend that would still be washable. Even better would be to see some matching sweaters with option of jewel neck, boat neck, turtleneck and mock turtleneck.. Why not match them to your cashmere collection? I am not a fan of pockets because of the extra bulk. If you put them in please attach them to waistband as well as the side seam so they don't flop around. These need to be available in all the basic colours., black, grey, brown, camel, navy, white, red, green and cobalt blue... April 29, 2013
Cheap fabric This skirt is made up of the cheapest wrinkly fabric. After 5 min of sitting in the skirt it looked like it had been slept in. No even suitable for lounging at home or doing yard work. Who wants to look like they are wearing an old rag?! In high hopes I bought two. They are both going back! April 29, 2013
Great basic I love the feel of the fabric and its weight. Some knits are too light or too heavy. This one is great. I'm not sure I will call it mid-calf although it is below my knees. I am 5'8" so maybe that is why. I would like it to be a smidge longer, but definitely works. It does look good with a belt and doesn't show my rolls! I wish it came in more colors. I wanted the mushroom but it was sold out. Only other thing I don't like but is true for most skirts these days is no pockets. I preach every Sunday and need one in which to put the guts part of my microphone. April 28, 2013
Fit small and short I have a number of the "old style" lands end knit, longer midcalf to almost above ankle ,skirts but they seem to have been discontinued several years ago. I am 5'8" and they were nice and long without having to order them in tall. I loved the style, longer, flat waistband and even pockets! Was super sad to see them go. Saw this new skirt and was quite hopeful. It was an exagerated a-line and much shorter. I have varicose veins and appreciate the longer straighter style. Sent it back. April 27, 2013
