Not a flattering fit on this curvy, petite girl
This dress does not fit well on my 32DDD frame. My chest took up too much of the top, bringing the waist up to empire waist height, which threw off the rest of the fit. I think it would have been better with more of an A-line skirt, instead of the pencil-shape. I tried it in a 4, which I thought would work because LE stuff usually runs SO big, but it didn't work at all. I'm sad; was looking forward to having a cute, comfy, casual dress.

Disappointing-fits small, like a tight sweatshirt
Normally Im an easy size 12. this dress was much anticipated and a total disappointment. really like an longish tightish sweatshirt with a yoke. Models mustve been uber skinny.
Not a plus, Canvas. sorry.

Great dress!
This dress is so comfortable. I bought the black dress and wear it with black tights and black boots. I get lots of compliments. It's versatile and can be dressed up or down.

Too tight in bust, unflattering
After reading the reviews, I tried this dress in two sizes - my usual size, which is 8, and also a 10. The 8 was tight in the bust area and arms, and the 10 was also very tight in the bust, even though I am fairly small-busted. The combination of the empire waist and the high neckline made for a very comical effect, like I had large, low-riding "girls." Not pretty!

Cute Casual Dress
Great dress made of substantial cotton weight. The dress fits small acros the chest and mid section. After reviewing the comments, I wisely sized up from my usual size 2-4 to a size 6. I purchased the black one. I am 5 feet 2 inches andd 125 lbs. The black is more like a deep charcoal with white/light grey flecks throughout. The flecking does NOT look like lint as indicated by a previous reviewer. I prefer the black over the red since some reds are too orange based for my skin and the black is more versatile with my existing accessories.
This dress is CASUAL. I didn't have the expection to wear it to work when I bought it. It is comfy, understated, flattering and stylish. It comes about an inch above my knees and looks terrific with booties, short boots, tall boots and tights. I don't like tight fighting clothes and to me it emphasizes figure flaws more, so I am glad I sized up. Highly recommend as long as you size up one or two sizes.

Adorable and Comfortable
This dress is adorable, comfortable, modern, and it fits well. It can be worn with leggings or tights, boots or flats. I am 5' 7 and 125 lbs and the size 2 fits great. I am so glad that I purchased it.

One of the best LE items I have ever purchased, and I've purchased a lot!
I absolutely ADORE this dress. It fits like a glove, true to size. I am a size 6 and ordered a small. The red speckled color is fun and the fabric makes the dress wearable and casual. Easy to pack for trips. Easy to dress down or up (not too far up, you understand...it is a sweatshirt dress!) Really great shape, too. Love the pockets. This is a winner.

Love it!
This is soooo comfy! The french terry is a super soft sweatshirt-type material and with the flecks it looks just right for my office environment and going out - not too dressy and not too casual. Love pockets. I usually get a size 12 in regular LE and got a 14 in this because I know Canvas fits slimmer. I probably could have gone with the 12 but I don't like anything too form fitting so this is perfect. This is perfect with tights and ankle boots for winter. Tall boots would be nice too. It looks good with a simple necklace or scarf or just plain. Am even thinking of getting the red, which I normally never would, just because I love the style so much (I got the black first). The material is a nice weight, warm and substantial but still drapes and hangs nicely. A winner!

fantastic!
I really, really love this dress. I wanted something casual and comfortable but also cute. This fits the bill! I am 129 pounds and 5'3" and I got the 6 - the fit for me, was true to size for the Canvas size chart. I haven't ordered any clothing from Canvas before so I followed the chart - I was a bit nervous but It was correct and the dress fits wonderfully. I couldn't take it any smaller as it would be too tight through the midsection. Mine is black and I love the flecks in the french terry - it is a sweatshirt material but it is very cozy and I think the flecks make it look cute and different. It also has pockets. The sleeves are long (to the wrist) yay! I think its really flattering and I'll put it with tights and tall boots. Its easy to wash and I hang dry it. I have gotten lots of compliments and if red was a color that looked good on me I would get that one too. The fit is closer to the body. Quality and price are both fantastic! Thank you Lands End.

It's like a sweatshirt
Based on the photo, I was expecting a "dressier" dress, not something so casual. When I got it, it looks like someone took a sweatshirt and lengthened it to make a dress. Not at all what I was hoping for.
