The elastic with the button is not like the ones in the children's pants.
The elastic with the button does not have an ending like the children's button waists. These pants do not fit correctly due to the elastic button.. It is all in one piece with no break so when you go to make the waistband tighter you end up with a lump where you have adjusted the button.
GREAT IDEA BUT PLEASE MAKE THE ELASTIC BUTTON LIKE THE CHILDRENS PANTS / SHORTS.
I am very disappointed with the pants and plan to return them.

Not my favorite
I ordered a pair of these hidden elastic pants, but was unhappy with the way they sit at my waist. I don't like the gap in the back. I think I'll stick with the 7-day twills. They are my favorite!

Bad design
First of all, I ordered the petite cropped. NOT. Loved the reviewer who said Petite means SHORT person. They were the perfect length for a regular pant. I'm 5'1. But I could have lived with that, except these pants were designed perhaps by a high school first time sewing student. My plus size started out just fine in the waist and the hip. From there it all went wrong, leaving strange pouches and and gaps bulging until it reached the strangely asymmetrical tight calf. Sort of like riding pants. Very bad.

Perfect fit--for me
We're all shaped differently. I take a Plus Petite 20 and these capris are everything I want. I needed to move to something crisper and classier than yoga pants--but I hate stiff pants (I never wear jeans, even very worn-in jeans). Also, I've got a long torso but short legs. And I have a horror of "camel toe". This pants were perfect--enough stretch, not too much. I bought them in three colors and will buy more when the pink is back in stock. I can race-walk on the treadmill every day, dress them up with a button-down shirt and city sandals, wear afitted t or a big sloppy one--these pants look good with almost everything. The rise is rather long, but I like it that way. I can't cuddle up and sleep in them like I can in yoga pants, but they're still comfortable for the whole day. The elastic waist is a little hard to adjust and I don't think I'd want to take it in more than 2 or three buttonholes, but it's great for settling the pants right on your waist or your hips. I find that I like o wash them after eveywearing, because they get a bit creased--but if you're not as picky as I am, you could wear them two or three times before washing. And they do wash up like a dream.

Petite means SHORT person
Received the 2 black Capri pants that I ordered in a Petite 4. They came 2" above my ankles - NOT for a petite person. Also, the pockets flare making it look like you have bulging hips. The crotch also rides low. What a terrible design for pants/capris.
Sending back. Nor do I trust any pant design from Land's End now. I should have listened to the other reviewers :(

Fabric too lightweight.
These new pants are made of a very thin material. Previous pants were a sturdy twill fabric. The waist adjustment feature leaves a loop of elastic on each side that tends to pop up and show.

Strange fit.
The quality of the fabric is great, and they look and feel good if you are standing still. The trouble comes when you begin to move. I needed to shorten up the waistband elastic, with the hidden button system, but when you do it causes the pants to fit strangely. They pull from the back and across the front of your thighs as you move. They look okay to others, but are uncomfortable to wear. I plan to take the waistband off and alter the pair I have worn. Am sending back the other color.

Elastic back is a joke, as it will not stretch.
The capri's are such poor quality, not like the one's that used to be. They are too long for capri's, too short for slacks. The clasp at the waist is too hard to close. Anything imported from Land's End is very poor quality, and the prices are higher than they should be. I will be returning my pair and will probably not order anything in the future.
