Thick, bulky waistband makes the fit uncomfortable
I have been wearing Lands End long underwear for about 5 years. They have been very comfortable. I was very disappointed this year, however, by the thick, bulky waistband, which is not comfortable. Please bring back the regular size waist band!

Uncomfortable waist
I have loved the silk underwear by Land's End. I bought 2 pairs of the pants to replace some worn out ones. Was so excited to get them. Wore and washed one time. The wide waist was never the same. The wide band folds over and will not flatten out. Consequently it's thick and uncomfortable around the middle. I will send the 2nd pair back. I cannot recommend this style with the wide waistband. Please go back to a regular elastic waistband.

I love these silk pants, but not the waistband.
I have a love, hate relationship with these pants. They keep me warm all winter. I have 2 pairs so I can trade off, because I wear them everyday. The waistband is strange. Strange that such a pricey, well-made pair of pants would have a poorly designed waistband. But I haven't found anything better, so I continue to wear them. And I do love them!

Nice fabric, bad fit
I wish these fit since I really liked the fabric & colors. But no-go. They are definitely a low rise cut. They would work well worn under more youthful styles of pants. LE should offer these in the standard rise waist as well. The LE Thermaskin long john pants fit good. But I wanted silk to sleep in. Please offer another style of the silk long underwear for women. Returning them with hopes for new styles next year.

Thick waist band has got to go...
I lend my voice to all who have complained about the rolly waistband. I have worn these silk long johns as pajamas for almost 10 years. I just returned two new and one worn pair BEFORE reading the negative reviews. I am so disappointed in the style. There seem to be more than a few of us who are expressing our concerns. Would be wonderful if LE could keep track of us and notify us by e-mail when and if they return to original style. I won't be purchasing again.

Bring Back the Old Sturdier Better Quality Silk And Ditch That Rolly, Thick Wastband
I use the silk underwear as my nightly sleepwear (life is too short to sleep in anything but silk AND high quality sheets!) and for years have gotten several pair. The quality of these silk garments has gone way down starting in 2011. My pants and crewnecks since then have not withstood the heavy wear that the previous years did so magnificently...The newer batches have gotten 'run's' in them and my crewneck tops have also had the seams starting to be coming apart at the neck.
Initially I washed and 'hung-dried' them as directed. After washing, the waistband annoyingly curled and was a bit thick and unruly.
Admittedly, after I 'break them in" (about 3-4 months of wear) I then DID wash them in COLD water, then DID put them in the dryer on a gentle cycle. As a result, they did shrink in length from this treatment, but I've had the same routine with Land's End silk underwear for years and starting in late 2011 the products haven't been holding up like they did in previous years...The silk is simply not as good quality as before. It is thinner than before..That extra weight of silk that they used to have was significantly more durable and long-lasting than any silk underwear that I checked out...including REI, Wintersilks and Ebay. Now, I can't any longer recommend them, but they are no worse than any others I've seen.
Still, these silks are soft, and there is nothing like silk when sleeping indoors or when camping.
On an aside, the creme color takes well to natural dyes. I have dyed one this year a pretty rose pink with an orchil lichen dye (Umbilicaria) and another one several years ago a lovely light brown from a Peltigera lichen dye. These older silks are STILL in good condition...They newer ones are falling apart on me...So far, I haven't bought my annual replacement...am waiting to see if I can find something better somewhere else. If you find some, let me know!

Please bring back the old design the silk underwear
I've purchased previous versions/designs of the LE silk underwear (tops and bottoms) from 5-7 years ago. I've always been happy with the style/fit, quality of the silk. I'm sorry to say I was not happy with this year's offering. The waistband is a thicker elastic but it doesn't stay in place. The design of the pants appear to fit someone with a waist larger than the hips. And the silk fabric seems to be too baggy. I thought the fit would improve after the first washing. It didn't. I returned my purchase.
Lands' End, please bring back the previous pattern/design. My older silk pants are wearing out at the waistband and I would love to buy more IF the older design is brought back. Thank you.

Think twice before you buy!
I have worn Land's End silk underwear for almost 3 decades. I purchased these because I loved the color. Unless you are extremely fond of low riders, you too will despise these pants. They have a very low riding wide waist band which has rolled up after only 2 (count 'em!) TWO washings in delicate cycle in a mesh bag. I loved the older versions of the pointelle pant, next time I will be sure to purchase them instead. If winter wasn't underway, I would return them, but I can't go without them now. Also, the silk seems thinner than in years past. I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone. First time I have ever been disappointed in a Land's End product.

I love silk and due to where I live can't find any here so will keep.
Too big, but I have lost weight recently. I really don't like the WIDE waistband these have and that is the biggest draw back.
