Love it
Expected great quality based on another boot purchase from Land's End. And this boot is just that. I had been looking for over a year for a lower heeled boot that was actual leather. I found this boot and was following it for months to see if the price dropped. Ended up buying it during a site-wide sale. As with others, wished they still had the black available. Perhaps Land's End can bring it back for next boot season..?!
The fit is snug at the calf, not so much that I will return them but I will only be able to wear with tights or thinner leggings. Otherwise, I also enjoy that my 9 1/2 foot doesn't look super big in them, designed well.

Wonderful boot! Spring, Summer or Fall!
I purchased a black riding boot similar to these from llbean last year. Every time I wear them they leave marks on my legs or rips in my stockings. Due to this, I was hesitant to purchase a brown pair from them this year. When I saw a one day shoe sale landsend was having I thought, I enjoy their clothes lets give their shoes a try. I wear these brown boots now more than any other shoes I own! Even though they have a little heel, they wear like a flat. I highly recommend these boots!

great boots
I find ordering shoes online a challenge because you never know what you will get, but I was not disappointed in these at all. The quality of the leather is excellent, the fit is perfect (I'm small. 5'1, so they go up to almost my knee and size 8 shoe. fits well). Best of all, they went on sale AFTER I bought them and was able to get a price adjustment from landsend with no hassle. I echo the sentiments of another reviewer- I wish I had acted faster and bought these boots in black as well!

Best Boots!
These boots work on every level. The weekend after I bought them, I wore them walking around downtown Bloomington and at a university conference for several days. The boots were comfortable and fashionable, garnering compliments on their looks. Their heel is a perfect size for easy walking. I'm a fashionista and find the curve around the heel and the quality of leather beautiful. Usually, buying shoes and boots online is a challenge for me. These boots are well-designed, attractive, and are easy to wear all day, when I stand much of the day. Size nine was a bit snug for my comfort, so I exchanged them for a nine and a half. My feet are on the narrow side, so I find that wearing socks over stockings are helpful for a good fit. A little bit of a concession for a perfect boot in all other ways. I'm impressed and am considering ordering another pair in the cognac color. Thank you Lands' End. You just keep getting better and better. Plus, the option of returning items at Sears makes ordering online stress-free and easy.

comfortable boot and looks great
I am so pleased with these boots. I was a little leary at first. It was snug and stiff around my ankle and snug on my calf. It was very hard to get the zipper up at first. After wearing them a few times, the calf relaxed and is no longer pinching. It is not, however, wide enough to fit pants in. I wear them with tights and they are fine. The leather of the ankle has become supple and bends/moves easily with my foot. The heel hight is great too. I like that I have a heel, but it isn't so high that it is uncomfortable. I did get gel inserts as the foot bed is very flat. I do feel that if you have a squarish foot (mine isn't wide, but my toes are square) that you need to size up a half size. The boot toe tapers and the additional half size allowed my foot to fit without being squished. I am able to teach in them all day without discomfort of any kind.

In this price range, you won't find better
I'm a boot size 9 and I'm 5'3, with 16" calves. I can't wear anything taller than 14" or so in the shaft because they look very out of proportion on me, so the Blakely boot was out. I tried these boots in an 8.5 and they were nice and snug in the toe and at the ankle, but in the calf but they were quite tight for me. No tucking jeans, or even leggings, into them. I tried the size 9, which are a much more comfortable fit in the calf, but because I have thin ankles there's some bunching at the ankle and they feel a little loose in the foot, and they are also just a little taller on my leg which isn't ideal. I decided to keep this boot in the 9 because the fit overall is good enough, they have a classic look, and in terms of quality they will outlast many other boots in this price range. For a factory-made boot in this price range, with the ever elusive 14" shaft height, and which comes with the Lands' End guarantee, you would be quite hard pressed to find better.

Great boots, colour is exactly as shown
I have been on the hunt for years for a pair of boots that will fit my 16" calves. I read some of the other reviews where people have indicated that their calves are the same size as mine so I gave them a try. Well I'm pleased to say they fit BUT JUST. They are snug but not uncomfortably so. Ladies, please heed all the reviews. If you have slim calves, these will gape. If you have calves larger than 16", these will not zip up as the gore does not stretch very much. I would suggest anyone considering these boots to measure up from your inside ankle about 10". If your calf is any bigger than 16" at that point on your leg I would suggest you keep looking. They are very comfortable, the leather is very soft. The heel is very nice as well. I ordered my usual size 9 and the fit perfectly in the foot. These boots are also not as tall as some others, about 4" below the knee but I'm okay with that. The reason for 4boats and not 5 - they are a bit slippery which I'm hoping will change once I wear them a bit. I'm also hoping the stitching on the soles wears okay.

Wonderful boots
I have only good things to say about these boots. They fit perfectly, the leather is good quality, and best of all, they are comfortable. My only negative is that I didn't act fast enough and also buy them in black.

Beautiful...but low heel, low on shin
Loved the look of these boots in ad, but when I received them, they were about 4 inches below the knee , mid-shin. I would love if these boots were knee high. I even tried wearing them with black tights, but the height was just wrong. I unfortunately had to return these.

The leg was too wide.
The foot part fit fine, but the leg was much too wide for me. I will be returning the boots.
