Description

The warmest way to commute to work.

You'll look professional and stay warm and dry no matter what the commute — even if it's through a snowstorm. The shell feels like cotton, but it's really waterproof, 100% nylon. It's treated to a DriOff™ finish, plus the seams are tape sealed, so water has no chance of sneaking in. Inside, you'll stay toasty warm, thanks to the 600 fill power down insulation. It's lofty and lightweight so you won't feel "bulked up." Plus it's one of the warmest grades available. Our coat is designed with loads of smart features too, like an adjustable snap-off hood and fleece storm cuffs. All four pockets inside have a secure hook-and-loop closure. Machine wash. Imported.

Now I'll Own 3 I have a black and and a green long one. I just ordered this shorter version. I have bought this version for others in both the men and women categories. None have ever shed any feathers. Best bad/cold winter weather coat ever. And you can just throw it in the washer and dryer! February 22, 2013
Great coat for the price I usually wear a medium in everything. This fits me large, in every way. It is much longer on me than the picture (and I am 5'8") It is also much looser than the picture. Maybe I just happened to get one that was cut larger since no other reviewers had this issue. In spite of this, it is a great coat for the sale price. It is extremely warm and I have worn it in single digits already. I have not had the issues with the feathers (yet.) I have only worn it a couple of times, but I have not seen any feathers at all. If only this fit me like the picture I would give it a five. February 1, 2013
The style and fit of this coat is flattering, and it is very comfortable. However, I am so disappointed that I had to return it. I was so impressed with the fit and style of this coat! However, I am so disappointed that I had to return it because it shed so many feathers. i would expect to have a "few" feathers due to the nature of any "down" product, but my black jeans and sweater were literally covered with feathers. Hopefully, LandsEnd can remedy this in the future because it is a near perfect coat otherwise. January 27, 2013
More feathers than a chicken This coats is warm and nice-looking but I can't wear it. Anything you wear--and I wear a lot of black in the winter--gets full of feathers. I own other down coats and, yes,you do get the occasional feather but none like this. December 6, 2012
Great fit and look; some down shedding I am 120lb, 5ft 2in. Got the XS Petite and it fit perfectly. Have room for a a thicker sweatshirt or sweater underneath but it would be a snug fit (not uncomfortably snug thought; just not extra room will be left). The coat was shorter than I expected - it hits about 1/3 of the way on my thigh. Fit is flared and defines the waist just enough (not ultra cinched but certainly not a potato sack; actually the way it looks on the model is true to life). Have worn it in the chills of Boston nights - coat did great at about 20F with no windchill but on the windy days I am a bit chilly with just a thin fleece underneath. Prob b/c of the short length too. Yes, it sheds quite a bit of tiny down feathers. As in around 10-20 on my shoulders. I got the red and it's true to the picture. December 2, 2012
Love coat but hood is much to small Maybe it is because I have a long neck, but when I put the hood over my head it was actually pushing down on the top - not enough material for me to stand up straight. I wanted a coat with a hood to wear it for walking in all sorts of weather, so I returned it and tried on the next size up and it still happened. The new Essential Down Parka is a better fit, hood wise for me, so I'll probably get that. November 12, 2012
Warmest coat! This is the warmest coat I have every owned! I am from Toronto and need to spend a lot of time outside in the cold. I usually go for black but went out on a limb and bought this coat in purple (it is a nice dark purple). I may have had 1 or 2 tiny feathers on my sweater but nothing like the other reviews. The only problem is the pull through pocket that lets in the wind, however given that it actually keeps me so warm I have not found it that bad. Quality is really good. Liked the high collar to keep the wind out. This is a cold weather coat- not a running in and out of a store coat. February 29, 2012
Feathers EVERYWHERE This is a nice looking, well fitting "sophisticated for down" coat, and it is wonderfully warm! Unfortunately, Lands End used inferior fabric for the quilted lining resulting in unbelievable feather and feather "dust" leakage all over my clothes. After 3 washings, this has not improved and the fleece collar is now liberally embedded with feather bits. The black (Lands End) sweater I wore the first time I wore the coat is still loaded with feathers (they worked their way into the yarn and are resisting removal). Since it's too late in the season to get a replacement I'm stuck with it. Do not buy this coat. January 21, 2012
Just what I was looking for... I'm 5'2" and was looking for a coat that was longer but not too long. This was perfect. I ordered the red which is a beautiful deeper shade. I ordered my normal size and it fit well. It was not too bulky, which I was afraid of, but it will keep me warm when I'm outside. Testing it today since it's mid January and the snow has finally decided to fly here in NY. January 14, 2012
