Kept me toasty warm on our recent trip to D.C.
I'm 5'4" and 150 lbs. I bought the small in the brown. It fit me just perfect. It's not too bulky and I liked the new styling. I cannot stand sweaters and itchy clothing, so I usually wear a t-shirt or some type of one layer shirt. I could wear a sweater, if needed, but it may start to feel a little snug then. The length was right above my knee and the it was a perfect fit to the wrist, as well. I think the medium would have been too big, long, and roomy on me. So, I'm happy with the small. The coat is TOASTY and kept me super warm this week on our trip to D.C. It was cold and super windy, and I was very comfortable. Yes, it sheds, but I really don't care. It did it's job and I love it. I wish it didn't shed and would last for years to come, but for a few years, it will be just fine. My, what a great price! You can't have everything sometimes and I'm happy enough with it. I love the fleece pockets. Oh, and I did put it in the dryer for 20 minutes on extra low when I first received it. Yesterday, I even used the hood and I liked that it protected my entire face and kept the wind out.

Perfect for 25-40 degree windy NY winter days -
I bought this short coat to fill a gap in my winter outerwear - I have a long, *really* warm LE down coat for bitter cold days/nights, and a shorter LE down jacket that works for 30s-40s, but is not so good in the wind in part due to lack of wind placket over the zipper. This diamond down coat was bought for and used in 20s - 30s, cold and wind, snow and rain, and has been my go-to coat for much of this very cold winter. I particularly love the convenient outside small zipper pocket over the chest area for fast access to Metrocard, debit card, tissue....One note: I generally wear fairly light cotton clothing under this coat, since the office gets very warm, and this coat still keeps me warm down into the 20s....It fits well, true to size, and the red is cheery. I do not wear it with the belt...
I've read about and experienced the down shedding problem discussed here, and called LE customer service (CS) after getting tired of scraping the down 'snow' off my black leather cross-body purse. I had to go several levels up in CS, but finally got a suggestion that seemed as if it would work. The rep told me that if I put the coat into a *low temp* drier for about 20 minutes the heat will close/tighten the fabric of the coat and solve the down problem. {Remove fur from hood first!) I tried it and it worked quite well. Not perfect, and I may decide to put it in the drier again, but it has stopped most of the down leakage. Perhaps do a 30 minute drier run....What I don't understand is why someone from LE hasn't popped up on this list and told everyone about this solution....

Sheds feathers
Fits well and nice looking but it sheds feathers non stop. Looks like its shedding all the time. I bought 2 more in the petite size for my mom for Xmas and hers also shed. She lives in Canada so returning them is costly. I've had mine for 2 months and it looks really bad. Too bad because I usually love Landsend. I would not recommend this product.

Warm, Stylish (for down) but oh the feathers you will have
I too purchased this coat as my 'go-to', casual everyday, drive the kids to practice and the game coat. It's got a great line, not overly boxy and unflattering, exta long belt - almost too long, great length and it's warm on those Minnesota winter days. My only complaint is that the feathers are making me crazy. I have a light leather interior in my car, so I cover my seat to avoid denim dying. The feathers stick to the cover, which in turn sticks to my nicer wool/cashmere and shearling coats. So I'm using the lint brush to remove the feathers from a coat I worn yesterday. Oh boy... Not sure why they come through so much but it's not good. If that were resolved I'd be REALLY happy. Otherwise it's a great casual coat.

Warm, nice length, excellent collar and hood. Does shed a bit
Received this just before a run of snow, sleet and cold in Chicago. The length is great and the collar and hood are excellent. It does shed a bit as noted in other reviews but since I got in on sale, it is not a deal breaker for me. Wish the belt was stiff or something so it would wrap the waist more neatly. Otherwise very functional. The violet color is lovely!

Great coat except for the fur trim and the shedding feathers.
I really like the styling of this coat, except for the furry trim on the hood which I removed. It is very warm, true to size, has a great hood. I even like the deep amethyst color. But the feathers!! I had read about the shedding feathers in other reviews but ordered the coat anyway. I have worn the coat a couple times, and the shedding is progressively worse. I got such a great price on it that I plan to keep the coat to wear hiking in the forest with my dog. But I can't wear the coat in public; I look like I'm molting. Perhaps the shedding will eventually ebb. Hopefully, Lands End will address this major flaw.

Countless white feather poking out making the entire coat look unstylish, poorly made
Is it the choice of outer fabric that is potentially the problem (such as low treat count)? Numerous white feather ends are constantly reappearing and 10 minutes into trying out, we gave up on trying to fix the feather that is poking out or showing up from seams. We realized that every move was causing more to poke out even thought we were just trying it out fresh out of the box. My previous coat similar to this did not do that and this is not a problem I would like to deal with every time I wear it. This is going to be sent back, unfortunately. The color is nice, the belt issue others speak about is not a major issue, and the fit is comfortable, although a bit larger but it is good since you may layer underneath. I like the feel of warmth as well. Sorry that this did not work to my satisfaction. If it is just that I ended up with rare and just bad piece, I am willing to try one more but... Thank you for this opportunity to express my disappointment.

Lovely coat and great price!
I received this very soft and lovely coat today. I typically wear and ordered a LP and the fit is perfect as I am a 12P. I love the extra soft fleece in the pockets, collar and inside cuffs! The hood seems large but I can remove. I really like how the coat felt... very cozy and warm.There are no visible feathers Great quality!

Nice warm coat--great deal overall!
I normally purchase medium knit shirts from LE, but I purchased a small in this coat. It fits nicely without a fleece or sweater underneath but it is snug if I wear a bulky sweater or fleece. I weigh 125 and am 5'6, average build, if that helps with the sizing. I like the warm fleece cuffs and neck. It keeps me warm (I live in Michigan) and I especially like the length. The style is versatyle so I can wear it to church or just for around town.I bought this in black, and it does leak some feathers. I am not too picky or it might bother me, but I can't complain for the price! The belt is long but i just tie it. It doesn't seem overly bulky to me.

Great coat
This coat is amazingly warm and I love that you can remove the hood and/or the fur! It is very attractive for a long coat and the belt is a nice touch to slim the waist. Very nice quality material. I know some people complained about the fur coming off a lot but I haven't had a problem with it yet. Overall I love this coat, an essential one for my wardrobe for sure!
