Classic coat with a funky twist.
The cocoon style coat with comfortable raglan sleeves adds interest and style. I love the emerald green in the weave of the heavy warm fabric. Yes, it does run large. I'm around 5'5", 117lbs and a size 0 fits perfectly! I'm thrilled because the sleeves are the right length and it's not too tight across the back. This is just a problem I so often encounter. It does tapper at the hips so if this is your broadest area, you might want to think twice. The quality is great and works perfectly with pants or a dress. I love this coat!

Sigh
This jacket is beautiful. The color is gorgeous and the design is so modern and worthy of a fashion magazine. But: it runs HUGE. I was extremely disappointed to have to return it. I am usually a 4 in coats and sometimes a 2. The 0 was very big on me. I get that it is a cocoon style but it still has to fit proportionally to the body.

Elegant coat
This is my first review on Landsend. Since I benefited a lot from previous reviewers on different items, I think I should contribute to this community as well. I bought this coat during the F & F events, so the price was quite reasonable. The coat was well made and stylish. I usually wear a size 6, but a size 4 of this coat fits me nicely.

Disappointed
I looked at this coat for a while and when it went on sale, bought it. I was not happy with the fit and material. I think it is very well made, but the wool is very rough, colour not really reflected well in the picture... it's brighter. That was okay, but if you are short and sort of not slim, slim, it looks a bit frumpy. Wish it would have been better, because I love the idea of it!

beautifully made, just runs big
a beautiful coat, it just runs quite big. keep in mind it is supposed to be a bit "slouchy", but i had to size down to make it not look messy. now that i have the right fit, i am very pleased. just for reference, i am 5'5", 115 pounds and a size 0 fit best.

Gorgeous but big sizing problems
The quality of this coat is terrific. The fabric and color are lovely, the construction is fine, but the fit is CRAZY big. I'm heartbroken, because it's a great weight and length for moderate weather. You could easily wear a bulky sweater underneath when the temperature drops, realizing that the cut of the coat is not a 'regular' fit). I'll see if I can exchange it for the same price, but don't know if I should go down 1, 2 or even 3 sizes!
I'm a LONG time customer and fan of LE, and do most of my online shopping here. But the sizing on all sorts of clothing, both men's and women's, has been terribly erratic lately. I'm usually a Petite Medium, but I find myself in a guessing game when ordering, according to other reviews on the piece.
Even the sales clerks at Sears mention that they have been handling a huge number of returns recently that cite sizing as the problem. I REALLY hope, as many other reviewers have expressed, that LE can sort this out.

great coat. quality almost perfect.
I order from lands' end a lot. the sales are great and the clothing is good quality. I have recently discovered the canvas line and have been pleased with the quality and style. This coat is beautiful. The fabric is sturdy and elegant. Good for a cool evening with a sweater in New York. It has a unique fit that works really well for my body. The one down fall is the lining in one of the pockets came frayed and as a result if you use the pocket everything falls into the abyss of the jacket lining itself. I don't imagine this is prevalent in all the coats just special to the one I got. I could send it back but I like it too much to wait for the new one and can just take it to a seamstress to get it fixed. Over all super pleased.
