They work fine.
I desperately needed a pair of winter boots for late winter. I dilly-dallied for a long time before choosing these. They don't come in wide, although my feet do, so that was a bit of a risk. They ended up a bit narrow for me although the calf fits fine; not the boot's fault, but I do wish Land's End had more in wide boots.
I LIKE the height - it keeps off enough of the Syracuse snow. I LIKE that they don't slip easily. The boots look fine - nothing extra elegant, but real winter boots never are. I sometimes have a bit of trouble getting my fingers into the loops, but that is definitely the way to put on the boots, or else the lining scrunches down and you have to start over again.
It's a good boot for the money I paid, but I suspect my search for the PERFECT winter boot isn't yet over.

I like the color and it fits fine.
They keep you worm as long as you don't get them wet, they not waterproof.

This boot is everything I hoped for
I read all the reviews of the various boots on the LE website and decided on this one. I ordered it to wear on the Elementary school playground for up to an hour and a half at a time. They arrived yesterday and I wore them around the house to "break them in" and at the end of the evening they felt like they belonged to me. I discovered that my fingers will fit into the pull tabs, so on days that my arthritic thumbs don't want to "pinch" to pull them on, I can slip my fngers into the pull tabs (great idea, LE!) I wore them to school today and after an hour and a half of walking on frozen ground and in snow, my feet were still totally warm! I couldn't have asked for anything more. Oh, and my co-workers commented on how cute they were! I did order 1/2 size up and they are perfect; and roomy enough for warm socks.

Highly Recommended - Due to comfort and warmth
I bought 4 pairs of this boot; 2 for me and 2 for my mom. I bought them in 2011 and these were the boot I wore all throughout last winter and now this winter (2013). These boots are the most comfortable boots and I loooooooove them. I literally wear them everyday to work with my suits and then change into my heels. They are very warm, easy to slide feet in. My mom is a voluptuous lady and often time she has a hard time inserting her foot into boots. However, she doesn't have any difficulty getting her foot into this commuter boots. It's like putting on a sock. Regarding the size, I'm a 9 like to wear 9.5, however, I ordered size 9 and they both fit comfortable even with thick sock. In my opinion, this boot fits true to size. I highly recommend these boots, you'll be 110% satisfied.

Fantastic boot.
Great boot to wear to work and for everyday wear. It fits well and is very comfortable. I ordered a pair last year and wore them for the entire winter. Still wearing the same boots this year, so the quality is great! Not for use in really wet snow, but keep feet nice and warm. Looking forward to purchasing a new pair next year.

Serviceable Winter Boots
I read the reviews before I ordered these and everyone - including the LE website - suggested ordering a 1/2 size larger than my shoe size. I ordered 2 pairs one in my usual shoe size and one 1/2 size larger and my regular shoe size fits fine. The 1/2 size larger is WELL a 1/2 size larger - so depending on your feet, you may not need to order up - I wear a regular width size 8 shoe. I had no trouble pulling these boots on and the loops were definitely adequate for this purpose. They are not the most stylish design but then again they are meant to be a functional boot.

too hard to pull on
I bought these for my 11 year old and ordered a full size up. Since she and I wear the same size, I tried them on first and they are way too hard to pull on. After 3 attempts to get the shoe on, I gave up without success. There is no way she will have the patience for it. They are going back for sure which is too bad because they are cute to look at.

Warm and cozy got me through a Canadian winter
I got these boots lady January and I love them. I ordered a half size up as suggested and the fit fine and are not clunky to walk through the snow in. They are easy to care for and are waterproof. The only reason am giving a four rating is because I wish they came up to my knee instead of mid calf would be more stylish in my opinion. But they were good value for warm serviceable, comfortable boots.

looks cuter in photo than they actually are
I was disappointed with the look of the boots coming out of the box. As mentioned by another reviewer, these really are hard to pull on. They are warm enough, just something about the look of the boot makes it seem sort of cheap. I bought another pair of boots that are more flattering and kind of put these away in a box in the corner of my closet. Sorry, LE, but you can do better.

Cozy boots
These boots keep my ankles and feet warm and cozy. I got them in two colors. I bought my normal boot size (a half size bigger than my shoe size) and they fit well. I can wear them with a pair of wool socks. I like the fact that I can wear my jeans/pants out over the boot. I can't do that with some of my knee high boots that have furry tops. I have no problems getting them on my feet but I have smaller feet (size 7) so maybe it's easier for shorter feet to slip down inside the boot. I'm giving them four boats because the footbed seems a bit "hard" like it could use a little more padding.
