NOT WATERPROOF
I read the reviews and was excited about this pair of boots, but I wore them for the first time in the snow today, and my feet were wet in about a half hour. I even made sure that it wasn't from snow coming in the top of the boot. Nope, the ankle portion of my socks was dry. The water came in through the seam across the top of the boot. I came back to the website to re-read the description, and technically, it doesn't actually say that they are waterproof, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining, but they are billed as "protect your feet from the cold and snow" so I feel I was misled. Maybe they were warm at first, but once my feet were wet... not so much. Other reviews also say they are waterproof, but mine most certainly were not.
Regarding the fit. I usually take a wide shoe, but with not-too-bulky socks on, these fit me just fine. There wasn't much arch support, though, so if I continue to wear them (maybe I should spray them with seam sealer?) I'll probably put an insert into them.

Did not stand up to slush
This was a rare thing - a Lands' End purchase that I did not love. At all. I think these feel cheap and uncomfortable. I am shocked to see people calling them waterproof - I wore these in some slushy snow this morning to take my kids to the bus and my socks were literally soaked when I got back. I've bought a lot of great things here over the years but these boots are definitely not among them.

The boots may be a bit tight but they get the job done!
I had to create an account just so I could review these boots. I live in the midwest and we had 10-12 inches of snow. I pulled on these waterproof boots when I had to help a friend after his car got stuck in the snow. Even though I was with 4 other people, all who had different types of boots, mine were the only ones that not only kept my feet dry but also warm. I was walking with snow up to my knees, but my feet were still completely dry. All I had to do was wear some long socks, tuck my pants into my boots, and my feet were completely insulated from the cold winter snow. I was outside for a good two hours and didn't have any problems at all. Yeah, these boots can be a little tight and a bit difficult to walk in, but it's expected with something this heavy duty. These boots are definitely underestimated for the quality and the price!

Wear them in
At first these boots are very snug, by wearing them around the house I discovered that when I warmed them up they started to give way and now they are very comfortable. I love wearing them apres ski as they are so soft and comfy wumfy. I would like to know how to clean my white suede boots. Anyone got any ideas?

Terrific boots!
I bought these in purple for my daughter for Christmas one year ago, and she says they're the best boots she's ever had! Super warm, easy on and off, true to size, and very comfy. She cannot say enough good things about them. These boots get a lot of use - she works training race horses and is outdoors every day in the cold, snowy upstate NY weather, tromping through the barns and stables all day, and then back through the snowy fields to her apartment on the grounds. These boots are wearing like iron through it all, and do not look beat up - and her feet are never cold! Thank you LE for a great product!

True to Lands End standards!
My previous pair of L.E. boots wouldn't fit over bulky socks. These are perfect and are easy to get on, thanks to the pull loops.

Love these boots
I wasn't totally sure about these boots at first because there's not a lot of support in the ankle but now that it's winter and I'm stuffing thick socks and jeans into them they are perfect. They are warmer than you'd expect, the lightest winter boots I've found and the snow and water beads off the suede part (after I sprayed them). They are easy to pull on and off. I'm thinking of buying another pair at this price to keep for when these wear out! The only thing I would say is they aren't great for walking long distances because there is not a lot of support. But for slipping in and out of the car to and from work or taking the garbage out they are perfect!

Great boot!
I live in the south where it doesn't snow, but wore these boots on a recent trip to Alaska and absolutely loved them! My feet were comfortable, dry and warm in the coldest of conditions. They were true to size and fit perfectly. I bought them on clearance during the summer and paid a great price. I highly recommend these boots.

These boots are not waterproof
They fit true to size but I wore these boots in about 1 inch of snow, after 1 and 1/2 hours my feet were wet and cold. Very disappointing.

Not so good boots...
I bought these boots a year ago, but we had no snow. I was excited when we had over a foot of snow this year, and I could finally get them out of the box and wear them! Having read other reviews, I thought they couldn't be that bad as some reviews were not good. BUT After less than two weeks of wear, they started splitting at one of the seams by the toe on the top side of the boot...this will not do in winter in the snow! I will have to take them into a land's end inlet store and see what I can do.... I was not happy with the fact that could not tuck in my pants when I wore them. I have wide feet, but the heels were way to wide for me. My heel moved up and down in the boot, and just like when I was a child, these boots ate my sock. Often when removing the boots, my socks would stay in the boots. I wear normal mid calf socks. Snow stuck to the outside of the boots and was tracked inside as it couldn't be stomped off. I love the purple color, but these just aren't the commuter boots that I need. :(
