Love the coat. Nice and Warm
Fit and quality is very good. No shedding of down. Took the belt off, the hanging loop is cold - maybe a fabric or cord one would be better. I don't particularly like the ribbing on the sleeves or the collar. Fleece would be so much warmer and softer on my skin. I have had lots of compliments every time I wear my coat. They especially like the fur collar on the coat. I have the Navy one. It is the first coat I go to on cold days as it is warm and cozy and longer than my other down coat..

Nice material but runs small
This coat runs very small. I really liked the material. It's shiny and soft.

Beautiful, warm, lightweight.
Yes, the jacket is very warm and light. But it has only one major disadvantage - climb down. It embarrassed to walk. Jacket to go in the trash.

Beautiful and Warm
This coat is lovely. So as not to repeat what everyone else said, (It does fit beautifully and the sheen is just right), I will explain the flaws I think the coat has. Finally, in all the reviews, someone mentioned that danged metal loop on the back. The first time I put this coat on, it was pretty cold, and that hook felt like an icy finger stabbing my neck. Why, when a coat is designed for the coldest weather, would they put this kind of hook? I own the squall parka and it has a cloth hook. That is one design flaw, and I found three others. The snap at the top of the coat is another icy spot on your chin. Again, the squall does not have that, and this Cire is a coat for the bitter cold. A scarf is necessary if you want to avoid that snap. Thirdly, the pockets are not quite the right height for me, but that could just be my body type, though I am a true medium, and everything else fits perfectly. Lastly, the static electricity from the hood makes me look like I just put my finger in an electric socket. I'm sure it's because of the shiny fabric. Oh, yes, the belt (I guess that's 5 design flaws). Many people mentioned that belt. I wonder who designed it? Does it fit anyone? After trying it just once, I left it in the box and will not use it at all. I have to agree with other reviewers that it sheds (That's 6.). Mine is brand new, and I haven't really worn it much, and it's already loosing feathers. For the above reasons I gave this coat only four sailboats instead of 5. That all said, I am keeping this coat because it is soooo warm, and you really don't feel the chill through the fabric. Again, the coat is so pretty and I've gotten lots of compliments on it. I now have two go-to coats for winter: the Cire down parka and the squall parka. Thank you, Lands End.

Better than described
I bought this item to replace a Lands End parka that had served me well for more than 10 years. I walk the dog twice a day in every kind of upper-Midwest weather, so my everyday coat must be very serviceable in all conditions. Things I like about this parka:
--it's long enough to cover my tush (good for warmth), but short enough to get in and out of the car easily (good for disposition)
--it zips over my decidedly pear-shaped figure
--I am usually a petite size but bought this in regular because that's what was available. The sleeves are long enough to give my hands some protection when I'm out for 30 minutes at a time, but don't make me look like a child in my big sister's coat--remarkable
--easy to use just the snaps on the storm flap; it's warmer using the zipper but in temps over 30 degrees that can be *too* warm
--the convertible collar works well both up and down; I don't necessarily need a scarf to keep my neck warm if I just turn up my collar
--zippers on the hand-warmer pockets--much less chance of lost keys
--belt comes off and the parka still looks nice
--hood #1--appreciate having the hood. I seldom use it but it's good to have for sub-zero cold or heavy snowfall
--hood #2--fur zips off (I'll never use it and having it permanently attached might have been a deal-breaker for me)
--sleeves go smoothly over the cuffs on several different styles of gloves and mittens
--it IS warm; temps in the 20s today with a stiff wind and I was quite cozy in a single long-sleeved top with this jacket. I envision those below zero days next winter (let's hope for no more this year!) needing to add only a sweater or lightweight fleece to stay plenty warm.
I looked at this parka several times in the catalog and on the website but ruled it out because I didn't think I wanted down. Then I saw it on sale at my local Sears store, and with the opportunity to try it on and look closely at the care instructions, decided to give it a shot. Very glad I did.

Beautiful color (alpine forest) and fits true to size
Just received my coat today and am very pleased, as is almost always the case when I order from Land's End. Beautiful quality. Have not had a chance to wear it yet, but it surely will keep away the chill, even on a very cold day. I do not think I could wear many layers under this beautiful jacket, but I do not think that would be necessary, as the down will suffice. I am really impressed with Land's End down. I have a few vests and have worn them many times. They are so comfortable and warm, and look great. Highly recommend buying this item if you need a down jacket that is great looking and warm.

The coat is very warm and comfortable. I love it! The belt is a little annoying, but it can be easily removed.

Great warmth/temperature control
I ordered the Petite XS (2-4) in Dark Wine and I'm generally a size 2. The coat fits well and is fitted and not loose and baggy looking which I don't like. The sleeves are the perfect length. Worn for 2 days when temperature was 1-5C (34-41F) and windy so wind chill was colder and rainy. Didn't feel the windchill at all and when I got into the subway train, it didn't get hot so I didn't start sweating in the coat so good internal temp regulation. As in other posts, the belt is really long! I loop the end around again to the front thru the belt loops or just tie the belt in front with the buckle hanging. Looks better tied with the belt to give you a waist. Got it on sale (62.5% off) so great value and quality for the price.

Good winter coat but sheds!
Bought this coat in Currant for Alberta winters back in November. It is very warm and there's enough space to wear a sweater with it. I've received a lot of compliments on the color too. The sad part is now the coat has been shedding quite a bit. I've been finding feathers all over my clothes and anywhere I'm seated(eg car seat). In a nutshell, very suitable for chilly winters if you're prepared to dust yourself off all the time.

Best coat I've ever owned
Just got mine in the mail and I LOVE it. It's everything I was looking for in a winter coat. Can't wait to wear it.
