Worst swim shorts ever!
When I tried on these swim shorts, size 4, I absolutely LOVED them. When I got in the water with them I instantly HATED them. When they are wet they do not retain any shape resembling shorts. They are heavy and saggy, hanging between and around your legs like a heavy wet curtain. I would love a boy short bottom, but this was the closest thing I could find here. Sadly, I did love the tops I ordered, but without bottoms to match they are useless to me. Will be returning the tops too.

OK if you like this style
Wish shorts came up to my waist. All this belly hanging out is not flattering after the age of 35. Mature ladies go to the beach, too. And I'd rather have elastic than a drawstring. Drawstrings are just plain ugly.

Super comfy
Needed some new swim suits for water aerobics. My top and bottom are very different sizes [I wear 36 G (usually 8 or 10 in bathing suit DDD cup) and a size 4 bottom. Traditional, one piece bathing suits are difficult for me to get due to this. Swim shorts fit nice. I got quite a few compliaments at my water aerobics class

Just a skirt with extra fabric between your legs
I was looking for some boy short bottoms. I loved the colour these came in (violet plum).
I also HATE swim skirts. They get wet and stretch all out and look terrible, hanging down around your knees. Not a flattering look on anyone.
So imagine how disappointed I was with these, which are briefs with a baggy pair of shorts over them. Worse than a skirt, because of the extra material between your legs. The waist band is also thick and uncomfortably baggy, wrapping all that extra fabric together. I couldn't return them as I had worn them before I realized how much I hate them.
Now I have a great top with no matching bottoms. And I can't even buy different bottoms, because these are the only things they sell in that colour in plus size. :(

This swim short is much too short!
This swim short is much too short! I don't feel it is truly a 3 inch inseam, more like 1.5 inches. The quality is good overall, but needs more length to provide adequate coverage. As another reviewer stated, the whole idea of wearing a pair of shorts is to cover more thigh. I bought these with a Christmas gift certificate, and never tried them on until today, in late May. Now it is probably too late to return for a refund.

Love it!
I took the other reviewers advice and sized up to an 18W, where I'd normally be a 16W, hence I rated it as fitting small. I love the fit, even the inner panty fits perfectly. The fabric and length is fine, maybe I find the leg a little too wide due to sizing up, but not a big deal really. Very happy with these shorts, went well with the AquaTerra Abstract Floral X-bank tankini top I bought to go with it.

Great fit and practical for beach/pool season
These swim shorts are a great match to the X-back tankini top. They fit well without showing off too much skin. Perfect for boogie boarding with the kids.
