Nice Try
I was excited to see this board short in plus sizes. I initially ordered a 20W and then had to return it for an 18W because the first one was too big. Unfortunately, when I wore them for the first time in the pool the fabric floated out around me. The shorts were fine when they were dry, but when they got wet they seemed to increase in size. The drawstring does not serve a purpose other than to make it difficult to pull the shorts on. For that reason, I decided to return them. I hope Lands' End will redesign them, based on customer feedback, and offer them next year.

fits big
I am so glad that I read the other reviews. I am a size 4 petite. I ordered a 2 petite, and they are still a little large. They slide down because the waist is too big. I got them on sale and intend to keep them. I may try to alter them a bit to fit better. The quality seems very good. I like that the color coordinates with their swimsuit tops.

Perfect swim shorts!!
After buying on a whim, I kicked myself for not getting the other colors in my size before they sold out. I practically lived in these during our Florida vacation and then again multiple times anywhere there was water and we were on vacation. I was always prepared in case we got in the water, yet they are very flattering (low rise, snug fit) on dry land. Only if you're actually swimming back and forth in these do you notice that they do get pulled down a bit in the water, but nothing a few stitches can't fix, I'm sure. Anyway, it's well worth how great they look yet how practical they are. A definite buy for me.

Bulky and Baggy
I ordered my normal LE size and they fit baggy and the look was not flattering. I have never had a problem with any LE bottoms before. They were very slopping fitting and large all over. I will be returning these swim bottoms. The only positive was the length, which was nice and right to the knee.

Nice Idea. Didn't quite fit me correctly.
I like this idea. I wanted them for my beach trip and for kayaking. Not quite sure what was wrong. They seemed to fit OK except the area from the waist to the crotch was not deep enough. They were not quite comfortable. Other shorts from Lands End fit fine.
Otherwise great idea.

Perfect!
These shorts fit well and are perfect for anyone who is active at the beach or pool.

Terrible Design
I ordered several things in the same size. Everything else fit but these shorts were way too big. There is no elastic in the waist, the fabric has no stretch, the drawstring in the front is only for decoration, and there are no belt loops. How in earth can a person keep these shorts from falling off? I'm sending them back and not bothering to order a smaller size.

Comfortable & fast drying
These are comfortable shorts that work great over your suit after swimming. A couple of issues, however. The decorative drawstring tie in the front is useless. There is a zipper and velcro closing in front, then, on top of these, the drawstring which you have to unlace to unzip the shorts. I removed the drawstring - too much trouble! Also, there is no defined waist and they sit a little low on the hips with nothing to hold them up if your fit isn't perfect. If these shorts had a true functional drawstring to help those wearers who don't experience an exact fit on the waist, they would be a perfect short!
