Not for those that have a... tummy
I'm a size 8. I have had four kids (and carried all of them completely in the front, they were all belly), and since then I have had a bit of a protruding belly, thanks to the strething and what-not. The top of these "control" bottoms stop right below the belly button, which happens to be the very middle of my protruding belly. Does this help the look of my belly? No, it does not because it is only "controlling" half of it. Now I have two bumps for my belly instead of one. These would be great if a woman had the area well below her belly button needing to be controlled, but that does not seem to be a common dilemma.
I do not dislike the inside drawstring, but I do not find it helps. If these bottoms were above the belly button, then THAT would actually be controlling the belly. My swim bottoms that don't go up that high (medium height) actually are more flattering with a tankini top because they don't bring attention to two bumps that stick out.
I inquired about control bottoms that are ultra high for those that are not plus sized, and they do not carry them. Seems pointless. Who wants tummy control bottoms that actually don't even cover your tummy?

Fantastic Quality
This is a wonderful suit bottom! It fits perfectly and the quality is great. It isn't flimsy and it does a great job of tummy control. I love it. It isn't real 'sexy' and high cut but it isn't old lady either. Great middle of the road!

A nice piece to have
The quality and the material of the swimsuit bottom is great. It helps you look smaller do to the high waist. I recommended this piece to everyone.

Great coverage
Great coverage. Great quality. Loved the color. Comfortable swimming in the ocean, everything stayed in place.

Wonderful-fitting swimsuit bottoms
I bought these as a 2nd set of bottoms to wear with another L.E. swim top. These are excellent -- they feel very supportive & control my tummy without being at all uncomfortable. Sturdy fabric, and I love the inner drawstring. I think these come higher on my waist than it appears on the model. Snap these up while they're on sale!

May want to size down
The quality is high. Like that the drawstring is hidden inside the bottoms. I wanted to keep them but I think they are just a bit too big and even feel a little loose in the rear - defeats the purpose of the control feature if too big. They come up really high (at the waist). It's fine for me as I have a relatively long torso, but may be problemmatic for some of you. I got my usual 16 - planning on getting a 14 instead.

This and the swim mini are perfect.
I ordered this bottom along with a swim mini and I love them both. They fit well, and hide or re-shape all the right things! And comfortably!

Bottom very unflattering - not at ALL high cut
This is the most unflattering bathing suit I've ever purchased from Lands End. I am not sure HOW they decided to call this high cut because it is NOT. I am thinking about keeping the top, but the bottom is definitely going back.

Well-made control swim bottom, considerably more generously cut than the regular one
The quality was excellent, however, it was large for me and particularly baggy in back so I returned it. Luckily, I had also bought a regular "high cut" bottom, which was actually cut quite differently. The Control bottom was higher cut and of course had the control lining. For me the fit of this was not flattering, as I am really thin. I think a more regularly proportioned woman would like this bottom, if she wanted a high-cut style. For me the regular one was cut much better, lower in front and smaller in back.

Perfect fit.
The fit is perfect, they don't rise when moving, and the material is a good quality.
