The full name for the fabric is “ponté di roma.” It’s a double knit with just the right body for dresses and skirts that work year-round — by themselves when it’s warm, layered when it’s not. This sheath style follows your curves without ever feeling tight. And the pleated and draped neckline adds the nicest kind of interest. 72% polyester/24% rayon/4% spandex. Machine wash. Imported.

This is the perfect fit and color
I am usually a size 10-12 except in Lands End. I got a medium and was worried that it would fit large since a lot of LE clothes do. This is now my favorite dress that I own! The fabric is soft, waistline falls perfect for me - I am long leg but short waisted- the color is beautiful. The minute I put it on I went back on line to buy every color, but all the mediums were sold out. Please make more of this style!

Extremely unflattering
At 5'4 with an hourglass figure, this dress made me look incredibly dumpy, which is odd because sheaths are normally a good look for me.
Second, the purple is not nearly as vibrant as the picture shows. Could be my monitor, though.
Also, the neckline is way, way, way too low. As I stated in another review, not every woman on earth wants to display her cleavage. Lands End, are you listening? PLEASE make some dresses with slightly more modest necklines.
This one is going back.

Gorgeous
I love this dress. I'm keeping the black and garnet ones. Soooo flattering. The bittersweet one is going back since it's just not my color. This dress rocks! The neckline is beautiful. I tried it with a wide belt like others suggested and it really accentuates the look. The fit is true to size. I'm 5 61/2 and wear a medium, The medium is just right. Skims the body without clinging. Can't comment on how it wears since I haven't washed it yet, but will probably hand wash it based on other reviews. I'll be sad if it starts to pill. For now, all I can say is its a very pretty, feminine, and versatile dress. Can be worn in daytime or evening. I'm actually looking forward to wearing the garnet to one to a wedding soon. Can't wait!

Best 50's style dress!
This dress fit me like a glove, not too tight and not too loose. I am a girl with boyish body and this dress give me some curve that I didn't know I had. A belt polished up my look instantly. I have a few items that is made with the same Ponte fabric. You should treat this item like your dry-clean piece if you want it to last longer.

Gorgeous Mad Men Style!
I was unsure about this dress when I first tried it on, but as soon as I paired it with a wide belt it was love. It gives me an amazing curvy shape! I will say that you definitely need a wide belt (elastic band is best) to make this dress look sexy '50s secretary rather than dowdy '50s librarian. The ponte fabric glides right over my trouble spots without clinging. The fit is exactly right in my opinion. I also bought the sleeveless ponte dress, and it's amazing as well! Wish I had 10 more dresses in this material...

Feminine!
I bought the Garnet and Wineberry in 16P. Length is perfect, fit is a bit roomy. This is a feminine dress and is easy for work and for dinner after. Recommended.

Showstopper
I'm 5-4", 130lbs, fairly fit, with large hips and a smaller waist so I normally would never buy a dress without an A shape bottom. I bought this dress in a medium to fit my hips and had the waist and chest/trunk tailored in as it was very large. The result was amazing, people literally stop and compliment the dress. I work in a conservative office, so this is a nice change from a suit but is still appropriate. Wished the fabric was a little more substaintal, but with all the compliments I give it a 5. Beautiful design, copper color gorgeous, since it is so inexpensive, pay for good tailoring and you won't regret it.

Happy Camper
Love this dress. Ordered in black one size smaller than the size chart indicates (LargePetite--I'm 5'3" 170 lbs). The length is just right, though I could go with another inch or so, shoulders in the right place, waist and hips good. Scoop neck is not too low, but I will use a scarf or chunky jewellery to fill in the space.
