  • Note: Dress runs large. If you are on the lower end of your size bracket, please order one size smaller

As wonderfully flattering as a wrap dress is, there’s always the potential for a “wardrobe malfunction” if it isn’t tied just right. We solved that issue with the Lands’ End Little Bright Dress. The dress overlaps generously in front — and is stitched closed along the waist seam. So it’s secure and figure favoring at once. 72% polyester/24% rayon/4% spandex. Machine wash. Imported.

Women's 3/4-sleeve Knit Faux Wrap Drapey Ponté Dress 4.1 5 25 25
Great knit dress I am a size 8, 5' 7" 140 lbs, 36DD. The dress has pretty good coverage up top, but I prefer to wear a cami underneath. It has a nice weight and is very flattering. April 24, 2013
Perfect! I bought this dress in 3 colors. The fabric is not too thin or thick. Not clingy. It is a very feminine dress. Wear to work (although I do pin the v neck for work, not for going out though). This dress is so comfortable. I am not a 0, 2, or 4. I have a shapely woman's body and this dress does a great job showing off my figure. The bow is very feminine. If you buy one dress from Land's end, this should be it. I hope more colors become available. Then buy the short sleeved one. I don't have one yet but I plan on getting that one too! April 11, 2013
Flattering and true to size I bought 2 of these dresses. I normally wear a petite size 4 to 6 and I weight 120 and am 5'4". The Malachite dress I bought in Small Petite, and it fit me perfectly. I also bought it in Cranapple and based on reading some reviews that it might run large, I bought it in an XS. That was a mistake. The Small fits me perfectly. The XS was too tight through the chest (I'm a 36C). Probably would have been fine when I was younger, but when you're over 60, that area is tough to tone. I have several XS tops that fit perfectly, but they are not skin tight like this. Bottom line, I love the dress. Am returning the XS to get another Small. It's very flattering. I would give it a 5 rating except as with most dresses of this type, it's too low cut in the bust. The dress hit me just above the knee - perfect length. April 10, 2013
Huge! I really wanted to like this dress. Normally this type of dress is very flattering on me. I'm 5'1", 120 and a 32DD. I got the smallest I could, a petite XS. It is HUGE. I could fit 2 of me in there. Even the chest is big and baggy. I can't imagine how someone with a smaller bust size could ever make it work. And the armhole area was very strange, very loose and baggy along the sides, which was not flattering at all. Also, the waist hit me all wrong, too low for empire but too high to hit at my natural waist. And I have a very short torso! Really, it looked like I was wearing a bathrobe. And the heavier material of the dress didn't help. Actually, it made me look like I was pregnant and wearing a bathrobe. This one is heading back! April 3, 2013
Nice! I purchased this dress in Cranapple, which is a very pinky orangey red. The fabric is a really nice weighty ponte knit that drapes well, and it doesn't cling to the awkward spots. I did not size up when I bought this dress, and I don't think it really runs big on me- the waist and skirt are fine, and the sleeves are almost tight, so I could not size down. The fit is definitely weird at the shoulders, where the armholes seem too big for the sleeves. The surplice top is not tacked, so it gapes. I will definitely wear a camisole underneath because I am too busty to go without. I think the dress is flattering, and I will be able to get three-season wear out of it for work. April 3, 2013
Short!! I loved the fabric on this dress. I ordered two for Christmas and could not wear them. The length shown is knee length . The dress hit about mid-thigh. Not suitable at all. Also, the waist came across my midriff. I always order petite and usually have to have them hemmed and the shoulders altered. These are still sitting in my closet. If I could find the proper size I would reorder. I wonder if I can still return. Have receipts and box. March 28, 2013
Fabulous dress- just make sure you buy the right size This was my first purchase from Lands End- I bought it online. I am 5"1" and 143 lbs. I am an "apple" type. I purchased this dress in size Petite Small in the Green and also in Red. In most other brands, I am usually a Petite Medium or a size 8 Petite. Now, here is the deal with this dress- the Green Petite Small fit me perfectly- enhanced my bust (a smaller 34D) and smoothed over my belly (love dresses that hide my belly!). So, I absolutely love the Green dress. Now the Red Petite Small was a nice color, but it seemed like it was one size larger than the Green even though the label said it was the same size! Instead of flattering my bust, it looked like I was a kid trying on an older sister's dress! I am debating whether to simply return the Red Petite Small or to order it in size Petite XS... I'm a little wary of ordering an XS... it has been at least 15 years since I've worn a Extra-Small Petite or a size 2-4 petite...and I weighed at least 30 lbs. less back then..... I would also like to order this dress in other colors, but I don't know what size to order!!!! March 24, 2013
Perfection! I love this dress! I ordered a size down as recommended & it fits perfectly. Nice thick fabric, beautiful color. I ordered the red which is more orange but I love it. March 6, 2013
Beautiful dress that pilled horribly This is a beautiful dress that fit my apple-shaped figure to perfection. It is a heavier knit ponte and drapes nicely. It does run big, so as others have said, I ordered one size down. Unfortunately, I wore it once, and it has pilled to the point that I cannot wear it again-- after one wear! It's going back today. It's too bad...I have so many items from Land's End that are quality, but this dress (and other recent Land's End purchases) definitely is not. March 5, 2013
Really Nice Fabric Weight I thought this would be made out of that lightweight fabric that clings and shows all kinds of "bumps and lumps" but decided to try it anyway. Wow!! I am glad I did. The weight of the fabric makes it lie smoothly and it is not overly clingy like some of these dresses can be. The colors are gorgeous, I bought the red and eggplant colors. The sizes are typical of Landsend. I bought what I usually do. If you don't llike showing too much cleavage, you will need a cami or a pin. ;>) February 23, 2013
