Women's 3/4-sleeve Knit Drapeneck Dress 4 5 90 90
A disappointment I was disappointed in this dress. It does not look as good as the photo. The material is too stiff to drape properly or as nicely as it does in the photo. While the cut of the dress flatters or hides my hips, the seam round the center is not high enough to be flattering to the bust and too high to be flattering to the waist. I think it might look flattering on someone smaller curves or a slimmer build. April 19, 2013
Tight through the bust I wear an 8p in most lands end products but find that smalls usually fit better than medium. I went ahead with the small and it fit tight through the bust (34 D) but loose through the hips. I would say that my figure is proportionate with a mom of 3 muffin top middle. My sister who is 1 cup size smaller and 2 pants size bigger wore the dress well. February 23, 2013
It is a beautiful, flattering dress. I ordered this dress in black and it is very elegant looking. I wore it for Christmas and I got many compliments. I am 5'10" and the length is good enough but I wish it came in tall. I usually wear a size 6-8. I ordered this in small and it fits nicely. There is a problem with bra straps showing in the neckline, something you didn't have to worry about with Lands End clothing in the past. Overall though, this is a very beautiful dress. Fantastic I bought this dress in Medium, in black. I could not be more pleased. It's easy care, it looks terrific. It's drapey. I wear it with black tights and if I toss a blazer over it, I can wear it in court. Take the blazer off or wear a cardigan instead and it's perfect for absolutely anything else. I can wear it with boots or any shoes. It's the perfect dress. The neckline flatters my chest. It's as comfortable as pajamas. It tolerates minor ups and downs in my weight with no problem. The first time I put it on for an appt. my husband told me "You are drop dead gorgeous." My husband loves me, and will often compliment me if I wear a shirt and slacks, but he doesn't say this unless I'm in a dress. Women should wear more dresses. Lands End has fantastic dresses that are reasonably priced, easy to wear, classically flattering, and get compliments every single time I put one on. This one is longer and kind of glamourous. People treat me with more respect in a dress, even the lawyers on the other side of things. The shorter dresses that show my knees practically stop traffic. Men look at me like they think they need to find the nearest puddle and let me walk over their coats. Wearing a dress is an advantage women should take advantage of. And I'm middle-aged and not thin. Such is the power of the dress! February 3, 2013
Perfect Dress I really really loved the style and fit of this dress. I wore it once and got loads of compliments. Loved the material. Bought the eggplant color (very nice) and just ordered another in navy. NOTE to LE: Please Please make more dresses like this with a longer hem line and a modest neck line. Hope you come out with more colors too. Maybe a shorter sleeve in spring/summer colors? I would buy them all. January 28, 2013
Great dress; runs small Loved the fabric. Loved the color options and the color I ordered (the name eggplant doesn't do it justice!) Loved the length--in fact, had it been available I would have ordered regular instead of petite and gotten a few more inches of skirt. Alas, though I ordered the size I normally wear and that should have fit my measurements according to the size chart, the dress clung to my arms and trunk in a way that was neither flattering nor modest. For that reason and that reason only I rated it a 3--it would be a 5 if I could only wear it! I'd trade it in for a plus size, but the skirts in that section are all shorter than I'd like. Hey, Lands' End! There are plus-sized women out here who prefer a longer skirt! A lovely dress--but you might want to go up a size. January 25, 2013
Great "everywhere" dress I've been looking at this dress since it was introduced many months ago and finally broke down when it went on sale. I rarely wear dresses and when I do, long dresses just seem more comfortable. My 'uniform' years ago was mostly Lands' End turtleneck dresses (mid-calf) in every color. At some point Lands' End decided to go after a different market, and I wasn't part of that target! After reading so many reviews of this dress, I wondered if it would fit and what the neckline would do. Well, It fits perfectly and the neckline is soft and easy to arrange. (I'm 5'8"/130 pounds and ordered a size 6.) I suspect the neckline might lay differently for women who are amply endowed in the chest and hips. I'm not, so the dress hangs nicely and falls a good 3 or 4" below my knees. This would look wonderful with fashionable high boots. Too bad I don't own any. Please offer more classic longer length dresses Lands' End! January 19, 2013
It's a love/hate thing. I love the overall style of this dress and though I have some complaints about it, I still love the dress. The fabric is a soft cotton, slightly on the heavier side and comfortable. I love the draped neckline, it is so stylish to me. There were two things I didn't like: 1. You must get a belt. I realized this when I put it on and it seemed so plain. That was easily remedied by going a buying a belt, but it was unexpected how plain it was without one. 2. It is much shorter than it shows in the picture. I am not a really tall woman, 5'6". The picture shows that this dress will go almost to my ankles, which is what I like. Unfortunately, it barely goes past my knees (maybe 1 inch). That is still in my ok, range, but I much prefer the longer look so this really disappointed me. January 9, 2013
great dress! I ordered a size smaller than I normally wear based on how other Lands Ends items fit, and it fits like a gem. No wrinkles. Can dress up or down. So comfortable! A perfect black dress essential. January 6, 2013
This dress is lovely This dress fits perfectly, and is very flattering. I tried it on, and didn't want to take it off! I can't wait to wear it to church! January 3, 2013
