Typical of our dresses, there is just enough detail to add interest, without becoming “overdone.” The surplice bodice is shirred for softness front and back. An elastic waist manages the fullness beautifully — making the dress easy to belt. And the crepe jersey is a joy to wear. Soft, comfortable, and with just the tiniest hint of matte-finished texture. Like all Lands' End dresses, it's Guaranteed. Period.® Three-quarter sleeves. Knee length. 95% cotton/5% spandex. Machine wash. Imported.

Women's 3/4-sleeve Crepe Jersey Gathered Surplice Dress 2.9 5 34 34
Comfortable I just got this dress in the mail and I'm super glad I listened to the other folks that reviewed and said it ran big. I'm normally an XL and I ordered this in a LG and it fit well. The fabric is lightweight but I'm not really sure what exactly it is. It's not cotton and it's not itchy like wool. I ordered the blue and the belt is kind of strange but I'm not usually a fan of the belts that come with the dresses (when they are the same fabric) so, I might pair it up with a brown belt and shoes (like the model did). Love this one!!! I read the other reviews and ordered down a size and was glad I did! My measurements are 41-34-43 and I'm 5'11" and the size M fits perfectly! I love the purple color too! I took away one star for the fabric - it's kind of weird and almost a tiny bit scratchy or meshy... I can't figure it out. Also, the belt is so thick it's hard to tie in a bow. But it is NOT see through so I'm happy! April 17, 2013
Fit well once I figured out which size to order. Normally I wear a LE 14 in dresses and tops but this did run very large. I was able to size down to a medium petite and they fit perfectly. I have one in a print and one solid both at sale prices and am very happy with them. April 2, 2013
This dress runs big! I am exchanging this dress for a smaller size- I ordered a small petite, but the dress just hung on me- because the dress was so big, instead of an empire waist, the gathered waist was half way between an empire and my natural waistline, which made it look frumpy. I am pretty confident that this dress will look great once I get it in the correct size. My info: I am 5'1" and apple shaped- I am 143 lbs. I am a small 34D. March 27, 2013
Looks like a robe The fabric was soft, and the fit was okay, but there was something that just made it look like a robe. I guess it might be the raglan sleeves; I had just decided it looked like a robe when my husband asked if it was a dress or a robe. March 23, 2013
I like it I was worried after reading all the bad reviews but the sale price was hard to pass up. I am very happy with the dress. It looks good on me, fits well, and the soft, stretchy jersey material feels good against my skin. I liked the dress so much that I bought a second one in another color. March 15, 2013
Beautiful color, very comfortable, but.... Very nicely made, with a back yoke across the shoulders and soft, bright fabric. The shape did not work for me at all. The raglan sleeves made my already not-dainty shoulders look like a linebacker's shoulders; on me the sleeves were too long for 3/4 and not long enough for full length and overall, I looked like I was in an oddly cut bathrobe. The fabric was on the thin side, but not clingy or cheap looking. I am VERY busty, and there was ample room in the surplice bodice, though I would have needed a cami underneath. This does run big, even for LE's generous sizing; I would normally take an XL and the L was plenty big. I wish this had worked for me; I think it would flatter someone with a smaller top and maybe an overall pear shape. February 20, 2013
Love the dress but definitely runs very big! In the past, I would have ordered a Lands End small or medium. With the sizes changing lately, I ordered a petite extra small and it fit perfectly! The fabric has a different feel but it is very comfortable and has a nice drape. So glad I found a fit- now I might go order more colors! January 30, 2013
Maybe it's just me... I think the dress has a nice design. However, it doesn't look too good on me. It's too big one. If you can still find one size smaller than your usual size. Go for it. January 28, 2013
Cute but huge Fortunately I read the reviews before ordering! I would typically consider myself a medium. I'm 5"7, 137lbs and 16 weeks pregnant. I bought this in an XTRA SMALL and it fits perfectly. There is nothing xtra small about me! Definitely wouldn't have paid full price for this. It's cute enough but it looks much nicer in the picture. Will have to try it on with some boots and accessories. It is quite low cut, but I'm used to having to layer camisoles under my clothes January 17, 2013
