Description

Broken in as if you'd worn it for years.

  • Washed cotton Oxford cloth
  • Re-proportioned buttondown collar
  • Contrast details at vent and inside cuff
  • Shorter tails
  • A refined, tailored fit
  • Intended to have a relaxed, lived-in style. Arrives unpressed and minimally packaged
  • From our Canvas Lands' End collection — designed with a different fit that's inline with today's look and style. Click “Fit & Size” above to know what size to order.

Design: The Oxford 101, in softer washed fabric. We've re-proportioned everything: a shorter collar, narrower placket, shorter tails — so that it works both casually and as a dress shirt. Authentic in every way, down to the pieced sleeve found on finer Oxfords from the 1930s.

Possibilities: Untucked, with jeans and sneakers. A tie and a cardigan. What you should have worn in college. Hard to go wrong.

Heritage: Oxford fabric was originally invented at a Scottish mill in the 1800s and was one of 4 shirt fabrics named after famous universities. The others being Cambridge, Harvard and Yale. Only the Oxford cloth stood the test of time. The unique warp and weft weave gives the fabric more texture. And proper Oxfords have buttondown collars, a nod to their sporting heritage.

Material: 100% cotton. Machine wash. Imported.

Fantastic Shirt I own this shirt in 4 colors (blue, white, and an emerald green and peach that aren't offered any more). I wear these more than anything in my closet. I am a pretty standard large and they fit like I'd hope. Arms are a good length, they can be rolled up. The only small changes I'd make is to add an inch to overall length to keep it tucked in a bit better. Also add a bit to the height of the collar. With a thick tie it can bulge a bit. April 24, 2013
Shrinks? I normally wear 17x34 shirts so ordered this in extra large. Normally, XL shirts are a bit too loose on me and this one felt fine upon first wearing. After washing (not drying) the shirt seems to have shrunk significantly. It is much too fitted now. I'm a little disappointed. Hopefully, as my dieting continues, it will fit again soon. Hubby likes it. I bought this for my engineer husband. He's a very logical creature so this was an easy purchase. It looks good, it fits good. What else does he need?! December 26, 2012
Nice fabric. Nice fit. One little caveat. I like everything about this shirt except one tiny thing. The contrast band on the inner wrist cuff makes it a bit tricky to roll up the sleeves. The fit is nice. It doesn't billow out, and it's not so slim that it feels tight (I am a 41" chest, 31" waist and bought a medium). For my height(5' 10"), the shirt tail can be tucked in or left un-tucked. The fabric is good quality but not heavy, and it's nice and soft. Arm length is good(I wear a 33 sleeve in dress shirts). Great shirt for casual wear, but watch the cuffs. December 10, 2012
Great fit, versatile My main problem is finding shirts that fit well in the SMALL size. This shirt fits great. I live in California, so I don't ever have to wear a tie (unless someone died or I'm in court) so this shirt will work fine to go from just hanging around the house to meeting with my Congressional representative. My biggest complaint is that I bought one, got it at home and tried it on, logged back on to buy another and it was sold out! Come on, what's with understocking S? December 10, 2012
