Crinkly, wrinkly and stiff
I am so disappointed in these sheets.
I hate sateen – too slick and hot. I want relatively low thread count percale sheets (not more than 300) and I thought I had found them in these Hotel Percale sheets. But heaven help the hotel’s bottom line if this is the best they can offer.
These are thin, crinkly and terribly wrinkly. They are the noisiest sheets I’ve ever encountered as well as being incredibly stiff. And while I don’t expect percale sheets to be wrinkle free, the wrinkles ought to smooth out when you put them on the bed.
I’ve washed them twice in an effort to quiet and soften them. It hasn’t worked and I’m not wasting my money on a third try.
I see that they are Oeko-Tex certified for over 100 harmful substances but they feel as though they’ve been chemically treated to make them so stiff and noisy.
Lands End, I am so disappointed in you. You used to have the best quality stuff at a reasonable price. I’d be willing to pay a little more, especially for sheets, to get that old quality back. Sheets are an investment; I don’t buy new ones every season. I want comfort and quality and I want them from a name I can trust. I’m truly sorry to send these back, but I just can’t justify keeping them.

Did not wash well
These came out of the washing machine looking like wrinkled parchment. It was hard to iron the wrinkles out even using a spray bottle and highest setting on my iron. Luckily I only bought the pillowcases to test them out first. If you don't mind ironing your sheets and you like them very crisp, then you will probably be OK with these. Can't imagine being able to use them without ironing though. After one washing they have a crisp almost crunchy feel, which will probably soften over time. I am going to try the sateen version and see if they work better because Lands End seems to have the best prices on hotel quality sheets.
