Madison, Wisconsin, where many of us live, is a real bike town. So when we decided to offer a bicycle – determined to get it right – we partnered with
Schwinn®, which has over a century of experience. Together we built it to be simple, smooth-riding and unique, with touches no other Schwinn has. From the bike experts we learned that an aluminum frame bests the usual steel: aluminum is lighter, stronger and longer lasting (but the front fork is steel for durability) . The three-speed gears are Shimano Nexus internal gears that keep the elements away — much preferable if you ride in winter (something quite common in Madison).
Our own design team made the bike unique, a solid leather cover on the padded seat, bamboo fenders with leather mud flaps, a spring-loaded back rack with reflector and comfortable pedals with reflectors. Even the colors are our own design. You can’t find a bike like it anywhere else. Imported.

This bike is a perfect ride!
I have been riding the Kate Cruiser nonstop since I recieved it. My husband put it together but had it tuned by a local professional bike shop prior to riding. The bike rides smooth and is very comfortable for around town. I also purchased the basket to go with it. It works well and doesn't shift, even when full! This is a must for casual rides and enjoyment. I waited for the 25% off and free shipping. I am pleased with my purchase as well as the quality.

A Beautiful Machine
Very easily assembled.... took me about an hour and 1/2, but I am a very meticulous craftsman and that trait carries over into all my projects. Requires a few metric tools.... 6mm and smaller Allen wrench set (standard bicycle pocket set) a 10 mm & 15mm box & open end wrench (or a decent adjustable crescent wrench would do) I did notice that the chain guard sits out just enough so that the crank clicks against it. Mild pressure to the guard worked fine and saved me the scratch that another reviewer (woman's version) remarked on. I changed the position of the mud flaps. They come assembled to the outside of the fender which detracts from the rounded lines of the fenders and also creates dirt build-up areas on the cosmetic side. Easily fixed (and much more pleasing to the eye) by moving them to the underside of the fender. The front wheel had a pronounced wobble in it (ride-able but sprung) Lands End shipped out a new one the next day, no questions. People of all ages remark on the "coolness" of this sweet riding machine! Nicest bike I ever owned (and I got a purple Schwinn Stingray for Christmas the first year they came out! ;0)

Classic style nice wood
This review is not so much about the bike but the fact that it came in a size small with no info what so ever on the site, usually if there is no info a MENS bike size will be a medium, this bike is unfortunately sized for some one 5'4 to 5'9, thats short for a man. ( I am 5'11 and now not sure if I can sell this bike for what I have in to it). Otherwise its a super cool looking bike, first ride to a Starbucks I noticed people stopping to look at it .
It had a scratch on the frame but down where the wheel connects and many things needed adjustment but thats to be somewhat expected from a shipped bike.

Great buy!
I purchased this for my husband. He has a high end bike, but never liked or ride often. He put this together and just enjoyed watching it. "It is a beautiful work of art!" (He is a mechanical engineer...)
Simple, classic, and smooth ride! and will be a lot easier for our little girls to hold on to us than other "hunch over bike" ^_^
What a beauty!!!

Very cool bike!
I just got delivery yesterday. I was quite excited to be able yo use your 30% code which made a big difference in the price. Today I rode the bike for the first time and I love the bike. It is beautiful and light. Its movements are smooth, the gears work great. In the past I have owned high end 10 speeds, but at this point in life I really dont want to grind it up steep hills. For the neighborhood and 1 to 10 mi rides it will be perfect. Lots of little special details. Wooden handles, leather mudflaps, even the bamboo fenders ( and I really had my doubts about those!) delivered right to your door, maybe a little less than 98% assembled. But so cool its definitely worth it. (oh yeah, I bought the mens bike . Ive never owned a womens. They seem to have a different balance.)
