I also am using this small bag as a purse, althought it's smaller than I thought, BUT it has the best key hook inside. I am ordering the medium zipto
smaller than I had thought but has the neatest large key hook inside; am using it as a purse and am ordering the medium ziptop bag in navy to use as a larger purse and carryon for trips. Hope it has the key hook in it.

Nice tote.
I like this tote but wish it had some pockets. Everything gets thrown together & it's hard to find things especially when you're in a hurry; key fob is nice to have. I agree with the other reviewers - the handle is too short!!! The handle on the medium tote would be great to have on the small tote so you could carry it on your shoulder instead of just in your hand or on your wrist. Love the color and the zip top.

Less quality than before
I have 8 of these bags including the first one I bought over 5 years ago. I've seen the quality decrease every time I buy new ones and it's a shame, these bags are the perfect size to be used as an every day purse or lunch bag.I just received the bordeaux zippered small tote and the canvas feels much more flimsy than the earlier bags and it's more wrikled, the metal clip on the inside key leash has recently been "degraded" to a harder to use and cheaper looking style. I was planning on returning this bag and getting an open top one to see if the quality was better, but that color has sold out so I am keeping it since I really like the color, but sadly, Lands End is not doing justice to one of their better selling items, they're also ignoring everyone's plea to have at least 1 pocket inside these small totes. Hopefully in the future Lands End will also listen to their customers and not just their investors.

NOT AS WELL MADE AS I HAD ANTICIPATED
I have an old tote from Lands End, given to me years ago as a gift. It is extremely well-made and sturdy, sits properly on the floor and is still as good as new. I bought the new small one as a gift, and although I will still give it, it is not the quality these once were. The bottom is not exactly square, so it doesn't sit squarely on the floor. It has strings from the stitching that needed clipping and the whole tote was not quite "square". However, the fabric is still good, the handles sturdy, the initial well done. I covered it with a pressing cloth and steamed the seams which helped.

Love this sturdy standup bag. Use it for my purse and I can see everything in it, which is something new.

great little bag
This bag is very well made but a little bigger than I thought it was going to be. I had planned on using it as a small pocketbook but there are no small pockets inside the bag except for a hook you can attach to your keys. I've decided it is a better size to use to tote my lunch or for a day trip to bring a change of shoes when I'm wearing heels. I love the color, black with the natural accents.

great bag
Love the zipper, good size for what I wanted, but the bag is made of really stiff canvas so looks a little dorky for everyday use.

Almost Excellent
Like other reviewers, I think it would be "excellent" with some interior pockets and longer handles. It is durable, well made, and certainly roomy despite it's small size. I saw the new model with the shoulder strap, but I don't like the little handles still on it with the shoulder strap. Seems silly. I'd like the longer double straps similar to the medium sized bag. For now, it gets a "good" because I've used it in many different situations, carrying many different things for me and my family. I love the zipper top too - some days it never get zippered because I'm in and out of it so often. But I do love the security of being able to zipper when I need.

Great size - wish there were pockets...
I love this bag as a "tough" small purse. I can leave it on the ground at little league games, or throw in snacks or crafts without worrying about it getting ruined. The only problem I found was that there are NO pockets. I have an older version of this where there was one pocket on the outside front, which would have been nice. Also would have been great to have one small zip pocket in the bag. But if you're OK with no pockets, it's an outstanding little bag.
