They are a little big around the waist; a little big in general Tried and true, however, they seem a little big. My daughter will grown into them. May 29, 2013

Fits small Have to buy these for a school uniform. Bought the size that she fit into on the size chart after I measured her, which is the same size I expected. When it arrived and we tried it on, it is small...and she is thin and petite. The legs on the shorts were snug, and the length from the waist to the crotch was not long enough. If she'd been bigger-boned or had more of a rear-end, it wouldn't have fit in the seat, either. The fabric is great, but Lands End got this pattern/cut wrong. Don't know what'll happen by ordering the next size up. March 13, 2013

Too small As other reviewers have said, these shorts fit oddly small. My child is tall & slender, and I am used to buying a size larger than her waist/hips would indicate & having to cinch up the waist as far as can be in order to get the length needed. However these shorts were only slightly loose around the waist; the hips were somewhat tight, but the thighs were very tight. She couldn't sit down comfortably -- not good in shorts for school! Odd fit The waist band was very low in the back, big in the waist, very tight in the legs. Very strange fit. I love most Lands End products, but these shorts were odd. I didn't feel I could buy her a bigger size to make it better. May 15, 2012

WAY too small! Definitely sending back. These really should go back to the drawing board. Something is not right with the fit. The other plain front shorts on this site which retail for $3 less are a much better fit. September 26, 2011
