Skirt wrinkles and need to be ironed after every wash
My high school daughter has this skirt. It is a required uniform and she wears it daily to school. We bought two skirts The first one broke with in 2 weeks of the school year. The zipper came off the skirt. I am so disappointed in how this skirt washes. The bottom of skirt rolls up. It must me ironed and starched for it to stay down. This is after every washing! The fabric attracts lint and the pleats do not stay pleated (unless ironed and starched!)
I have resorted to purchasing the other option.. The khaki straight skirt. I am upset I had to spend more money on uniforms. I do not recommend this skirt.

This material wrinkles and the bottom of skirt turns up.
I am so disappointed in this skirt! At our school kids can choose the straight skirt or the pleated. After purchasing 2 pleated. The first one the zipper broke within a few weeks of wearing. The 2nd skirt needs to be ironed and starched after every wash! The bottom of the skirt flips up. Very unattractive for a high schooler!! I just dropped another $60 plus monogramming for 2 new straight skirts. This is her uniform so she has no other choices!

Problems are the buttonhole and the fabric
Sadly, I have to agree with many of the other reviewers. This skort appears very cute and we are going to make it work for this year, but I am going to ask our school to designate a different uniform skort. The button on the side is tiny and very difficult for a child. We leave it fastened and my daughter pulls the skort on and off. (She is of average size; I would describe the skort fit as average to smallish.)
The fabric attracts lint like you would not believe. It is linty before she walks out the door for school and nothing seems to help that. I've tried line drying, dryer sheets, a lint brush...nothing works.
The hem of the skort rolls up significantly after it's washed. Again, it doesn't make any difference whether the skort is line dried or put in the dryer. I am too busy to iron school uniforms, but I am not happy with the final look.
My daughter is the youngest of 4 children (so I know all about children's clothing and sizing) and I have been an LE customer since my teens. When I say that this is not up to the standards I expect, I hope that carries some weight.

Way too big
beautifully constructed but my slim daughter is swimming in this even after I sent the first one back and reordered a smaller size. LE can you make this in a slim?? Thank you!

The navy skirt is hard to button even for an 11th grader and is a lint magnet
The twill navy skirt material seems durable but the fit is difficult . Buttoning the skirt is hard even for an 11th grader. The most disappointing is the lint that is attracted to the material . I wash it inside out , use a lint brush but at the end of the day its all white specked. I am disappointed in Lands End.

Good quality, but...
The fit was great for my 5.5 YO, who is pretty tall for her age (we ordered a 6x). However, the side zipper was difficult for her to handle on her own. I think it would be best to save the side zipper clothing for older children. Aside from the side zipper issue, it was a really cute skort.

This skort is nice.
The button is impossible for my 6 year old to unbutton. It is too small and the button hole is too tight. The hem on the bottom is always turning up. So, expect to iron it when you pull it out of the dryer.

Good quality, awful fabric.
I am very sorry to say I will be returning this item. It is SO stiff, that I can't even imagine my daughter spending all day at school in this without being uncomfortable. The quality is perfect otherwise, and it looks great, but I just can't take the chance of letting her wear it.

Not for little kids, wrinkles easily
Unlike most of the skorts here, this skort does not have an elastic waistband. This means it must be unbuttoned by the child in the course of the day. My 6 year old can button her shirts fine, but the skort button is too small and tight. Also, although this looks like the pleated uniform skirt, the material is totally different and wrinkles and doesn't hold its shape well. Not up to Lands' End standards.

The material for this skort wrinkles very easily after washing/drying. The button is too small for girls to button.
I was very disappointed with this skort. I was very excited to see Lands End offering something new and cute for a khaki skort uniform option. I loved the pleats and the ease of movement. However, the button is too small for my daughter to button on her own. It definitely needs a larger button. Also, it wrinkles very badly when removed from the dryer. I will not purchase another one nor will my school choose to offer it as a skort option.
This skort needs to be made in a different material. Possibly the same material used for the boys uniform khaki pants (wrinkle free). Anything but the material that is currently used. It's a shame. Very cute skort, but a disappointment.
