I like these pants. I bought them, because they are the best material and cut for his school. I didn't like material that shrinks in the wash/dry. I wanted something durable for school yet fit the dress code. I did have an issue with one pair (khaki) on the knee being torn after several weeks. BUT my son has 3 pairs of the shorts and 3 pairs of these particular material. I still recommend. AND Land's End stands by their items; they did on this one. Overall, best pair of pants out there.

Great quality
I have a first grade boy and have been buying these pants for 2 years now. The knees and color of the pant hold up very well after multiple washes, and I will continue to buy them!

Pants are of good quality and fit, and have stayed nice through many washes
Our son puts these pants through a lot of wear and tear at school, and they stand tough for every day wear and machine washing. He wears them for both school and for holiday outings.

An automatic purchase each year
We have purchased the plain front iron knee chinos since my oldest grandson (in 6th grade)
was in the first grade.
They look perfect and stand up to rugged playground football games.
They have been passed down to his brother and still look great.

So far, so good.
These pants fit well and look good. I've only washed them once or twice so far, but they seem to have come out looking very good without ironing. (Who wants to iron school pants?) I especially appreciate the ability to order whatever length is needed. These pants were ordered for my son who is tall and slim and has long legs. It has been difficult to find the proper leg length in the store. I think these will continue to be our "go-to" pants for school dress code.

I'm a Believer!
After spending over $200.00 last year on my first grader's school uniform pants due knee shredding, I made it my mission to find a brand that would hold up to a rambunctious boy. I purchased 3 pairs of the Land's End Iron Knee Flat Front Chinos (School Uniform) for his second grade year. I am happy to report that he is still wearing the original 3 pairs of pants I purchased for him and there is not ONE hole in his pants. There are a couple of marks that are lighter (quarter size) where impact occurred between his knee and concrete, but there is no hole and it doesn't appear that a hole will appear anytime soon! To say I'm ecstatic is an understatement...not to mention over $100.00 richer than I was this time last year!

Holes holes holes
I bought several pairs of these pants and not only do they get holes in the knees but they also get holes in the back by the pockets, thankfully you can return them for a new pair but it seems like they only last a short time and its a pain to send them back or take them back to the store to replace them. I hope they resolve the issues with these pants I would love to keep buying them but at this point I won't.

Love these - but add hook & bar cloure for Big Boy sizes
My son has been wearing these pants to school daily for 2 years and we've never had an issue. Love them. However, he has just graduated to the Big Boy sizes and I really wish they still had the hook & bar closure instead of the actual button.
