Fabric so rough, it chafed my daughter's legs We have never had an issue with Land's End uniform products. Always durable, always comfortable & always able to be "made good" if there were a mistake in ordering, etc. However, I simply can't offer a glowing recommendation of this particular product. My daughter is in junior high & as an 8th grader, the kids are permitted to wear khaki pants rather than navy. She was so excited to get these! Unfortunately, the fabric is so rough and abrasive that after one day of wearing them, my daughter's inner thighs were rubbed red. She is a tall, willowy girl, so it isn't a matter of size equaling chafing. The fabric is simply abrasive. I tried washing and softening the product to no avail. We simply will need to find our khaki pants elsewhere as the feel of this fabric is so different from her little sister's navy uniform Land's End pants. October 29, 2012
Love the way they fit. Great fit, great quality. New, so don't know how they will hold up. October 28, 2012
Great basic pants We bought 3 pairs of these for my daughter, and they are great, basic, durable pants. October 13, 2012
knees wore through after three days My son wore these pants three times before he had a hole in the knee. If these pants are advertised as being iron-knee they should last longer. The uniform pants from another company my son had previously to these lasted for several months before the knees started to wear through. He was younger then and played more on his knees in the classroom. With these pants, he only played on the floor three times and the left knee has a hole in the fabric (not through the backing, but it shows). They do wash well, but Landsend needs to make a more durable fabric if they are going to call these pants iron-knee! October 7, 2012
These are the best pants you can buy for school-the fit is perfect for us. Last year my daughter wore the 12+ size all year long. They were slightly big at the beginning but with the adjustable waist it didn't matter. This year we purchased the 14+ and they fit perfectly. We shopped a little but localy trying to find pants but could not find ANY that fit as well as these. The best thing about Lands End is that they HEM THE PANTS FOR FREE. This saves me so much hassle and the pants fit perfectly (waist and length) when we first try them on. You can't ask for more than that. By the way the pants that she wore all last year still look fine. They show no wear at all. Unbelievable! September 16, 2012
Need to provide a LONG in junior sizes My daughter is too skinny for the women's pants but is too tall for the juniors. Please understand that when providing uniforms for teenage girls that many are tall and thin. I have to pay to have them hemmed after I receive them to get enough length for her. Your clothes already take too long to get, this just makes it longer and really inconvenient. August 22, 2012
Good Pants, Just Not For Us These pants have really, really high quality, you can feel that, but the feel of it really wasn't that nice. First, the fit was off. The size charts must have not been accurate. It said I was a 14; we got a 14 and 16 to make sure. When they arrived, I tried them on. The 14's were small and a little tight, but the 16's were big and a little baggy. I guess I'm a between size. 60% of these pants is Baumwolle (which I believe is a type of cotton), 30% is Polyester. Also, It's made in Bangladesh. The quality seems very good, but I hated the feel. I know that all pants are stiff when they first come in, but these were really stiff, not at all soft, and the style wasn't that feminine. The inseams were wrong, too, we ordered 29 inches in both of them. The 14's came as 28 and three-fourths, and the 16's came as 29 and three-fourths, but I guess we can't blame them, they are people, they make mistakes. We decided to return them (still haven't, in process). We then ordered the School Uniform Girls' Plain Front Stain Resistant Stretch Chino Pants. They will be here very soon, I'll probably put a review on them. The quality is very good in these Iron Knees, but they are better for elementary kids, in my opinion. They are the ones who need Iron Knees and extra quality pants, but for me, I prefer comfort. That's why we got the stretch, hopefully they'll be better :) Oh, by the way, I know I put that I wouldn't recommend this protect, (customers don't see that part), but I only had an option of yes or no. The real answer is maybe. I would recommend these to elementary kids who play hard, but for kids my age (7th grade) I would suggest something more feminine and softer (maybe the Lands' End stretch ones? I don't know, yet, I'll put a review after I try them). Thanks Lands' End for making such wonderful products. I just have to understand these are not my style. Thanks for making lots of styles to choose from, Lands' End! It takes a little while to find the right one! August 18, 2012
boxy and unflattering The new cut on these pants is boxy and unflattering. They look like boys' pants. Last year's pants from Land's End had a nice shape to them. We'll be sending these back and wearing skirts this year. August 18, 2012
smaller than size 5's last spring I ordered size 5 pants for the fall because we have 1 pair of size 5's that I bought last spring that still had plenty of room in width and length for my daughter to grow. However, these are much smaller (halfway between 4 and 5, if I compare them to last year's uniform pants -- and they have not even been washed yet.) They also seem to have a shorter rise than her old uniform pants, and that plus the elastic waist is making them ride low in the back; she would need longer shirts. I am going to have to return them. Just disappointed because I bought them with a web coupon 30% off, but of course now the price is back up to baseline. I'm surprised so many commenters said they ran big. Maybe they have changed the cut or something. This is the first time I'd ordered this style (last year's are pleat-front). August 1, 2012
Quality is not as good as I thought it would be. These pants fit a little big. They are much thinner than I thought the fabric would be. July 24, 2012
