Just what we needed
The shorts fit A little shorter than the ones sold in our official uniform store, but not so short that the school noticed. We bought the teen size 5. The larger sizes do not have the adjustable waist, but they fit well enough, we didn't need it. My daughter is 5 foot 4 with an average build. They would fit a slim or average build, but run a little tighter than other lands end clothes.

Cute, comfortable and well-made shorts

Perfect Shorts for School
I ordered these shorts for my grandaughter last year and we were so pleased with how they looked and held up that I ordered them again this year in all three colors. They launder and wear well after many, many washings and the colors do not fade. They look as wonderful at the end of the school year as they did at the beginning. We also LOVE the fit of the Slims. Neat, clean lines that look a lot more expensive than they actually are.

Shorts are OK Fit is very difficult
These are school uniform shorts. Actually like the shorts and quality is good. When choosing from the sizing chart, it took four tries to get the size that fit. Went from a womans size L16 then L14 then Junior 13 then Junior 11 to get the 35 in waist we needed. Everyting we ordered ran 2 to 4 inches larger in the waist than the sizing chart indicated. The sizing chart says a Junior 11 waist is 31 1/2 it is acutally 35. Go figure.
Read many complaints just like this.

Shorts run big.
I bought these shorts for school for my daughter. My daughter usually wears an 8 plus in girls, however, these were very big on her. I had to return and get the smaller size, 7 plus, which were still a bit big but with the adjustable waist, they will work. As always, we are very pleased with the quality of Lands' End uniforms. My daughter loves her shorts and can't wait to wear them!

Cute shorts!
Ordered these for my girls for school, I could not tell how long they were by the picture and I was afraid they'd be too short. I was pleasantly surprised to see they hit just above the knee, which is what their dress code requires. The fabric has nice weight to it, and they look very crisp and neat. Waist is true to size, but there is the adjustable waistband if needed. Very pleased with this purchase!!

Just NOT the Same...
We have loved LE uniform shorts in the past with their great fit, comfortable fabric, and durability you couldn't go wrong! I just received our uniforms I ordered for the coming school year and I am shocked! These shorts are nearly 2.5 inchs shorter than the same shorts (style and size) we ordered last year! In fact, they are actually too short for our school's dress policy. My daughter immediately took them off and said "Send them back, they are too short and the fabric is scratchy." I wish the changes would have been better documented in the item description, I would never have ordered them with the shorter length,

Fit is too snug for plus size
I bought these shorts in a plus size for my daughter, but the waist and legs were just too fitted. Unfortunately, we had to return them. In years past we have always bought the shorts with the elastic back, but they weren't offered this year. Land's End, please bring those back! The elastic makes a huge difference when shopping for girls who struggle with tummy size.

These shorts are of great quality, but they were extremely big.
We ordered these shorts for school uniforms. I used the sizing chart provided on the Land's End website and according to the chart I was supposed to order a size 16. That sounded way too big, so I ordered a 14plus and they were still HUGE on my daughter. My husband checked and rechecked my measurements and came up with the same conclusion....Land's End needs to change their sizing chart. It is completely unreliable. We have ordered a smaller size and have not received it yet, but I think this time we will have shorts that fit. Having said that, I called and reordered the shorts via the phone and they were extremely helpful and the process was very quick and easy with no charge for shipping and handling. I was able to take the shorts that were too big to a local Sears store and that process was also very quick and easy.
