Been buying these for 8 years!
My daughter has been in private school for the 8 years now and knee socks are required. The first year I purchased several other brands and they didn't last long as they either pilled, the elastic gave out or they ended up stretched and misshaped. Lands End knee socks are excellent and good price for long lasting wear. Over the last 8 years these socks have retained their shape. never pill and the elastic, at the end of the school year, is just good as it was on the first day of school. If your school uniform requires knee socks I strongly advise you to not to purchase other brands, just buy these and you'll be glad you did!

Does not run small
I bought this for my 6 yr old daughter who is 44", 43 lbs, and a size 12 shoe. Based on the reviews complaining that these socks run small, I ordered a "L". The heel comes to my daughter's ankle bone and the sock itself comes to her thigh. They do not run small. Reordering in a "M" and will keep these for 3/4 grade. Socks feel thick and decent quality.

watch out for shrinking.
These looked great at first, but shrunk A LOT in the wash..... and I only ever wash in cold water. After two months, these are un-wearable....

Great school uniform scok
These socks are great quality and wear well. My daughter has them in both navy and white and she wears them frequently. They stay up well and she does not have to constantly pull them up.

This sock has changed
I have purchased this sock for several years, it was a staple in my daughter's uniforms. I was always very happy with the quality and could never find another sock that performed as well as this sock. I was such a fan of these socks, we had a group of mothers that bought them together for the last few years. But the sock has changed, it is now much smaller, not a good choice for anyone over the 5th grade, my youngest is 4'10'' and 72 pounds size 6 1/2 women's (5 children's) shoe, the new XL is too small, the old L fits her still. The old XL my oldest is still using and she is 5'5'' and 110 pounds. Also, the new sock also continues to constantly fall down, which is very irritating. I called Lands End and there is no other choice of socks, I am returning the unused packages today.

Order bigger
The product is nice quality Bly I suggest ordering a size bigger because they do tend to shrink even on low.

Nice quality
These were purchased for an 6th grader for school uniform.
They are made and finished well.However they sizes run small.
The largest size do not fit a girls size 8 foot.

Doesn't hold up in wash
After the first wash I saw signs of fraying of socks. Strings just hanging inside sock. After second wash more strings and visable holes. After third wash thru first two pair away. Would not ever buy socks again!
