So cheap looking!
It is clear the "improvements" they made to this shoe were all about making it cheaper! First off, the shoe looks weird. I bought the black patent, which I've loved in the past, but this stuff looks like it will rub off if you touch it. Also, they are not shiny. They look plastic, in fact. And, yes, very narrow. Luckily my daughter has a narrow foot and I just need something to get her through the holiday season, but I won't be coming back for these. Come on, Lands End!!!

Narrow Shoe
I ordered two pairs of these shoes for my daughters; one in a toddler size and one in a girls size. Both pairs were too narrow for my girls who do not normally wear wide shoes. In addition, the size 9 shoe for my older daughter was too small in both length and width, which surprised me since she is currently comfortably wearing size 9 shoes from two other companies.
That said, these shoes are beautiful and well made. I ordered the black suede for their holiday outfits, but unfortunately both shoes are going back. The toddler shoes do not come in a wide width, and I am hesitant to order a wide for my older daughter for fear that they would not fit well.

Liked the old style MUCH better!!
Such a disappointment. Why did you have to change the style when it was perfect before? Last year, my daughter had regular width and it fit fine. This year, we ordered wide width and the first thing she said when she put it on was TOO TIGHT (and motioned to the width). The new dressier look is cute, but if you examine it, the shoe is much more of a dress shoe than a "wear to school and play on the playground and PE shoe." It's very flat without arch support. Ugh. Going back. Very bummed. I guess we'll try Stride Rite.

Good looking shoe, great quality
I bought the suede version for my daughter's indoor school shoes last year. They held up very well the entire year, even with an hour of gym twice a week. My daughter says they were comfortable, plus they looked great with her uniforms. So I bought a new pair for this year.

Perfect color and fit
Great uniform shoe! Fits true to size and looks very nice yet durable enough for the playground! Would also recommend as a dress shoe.

Great shoe!!
This is the second pair of these that I have bought for my grandaughter--in different sizes--she loves them and they are a great fit. She is a little fussy about her shoes , but she likes these alot.

Don't hold up to the "play" part of their title
We have loved the previous version of these shoes in years past. We always get the black patent and they last and last. Unfortunately, this year's version has not lived up to that standard. The patent rubbed off both toes and now an ugly gray shows through. These were ordered 9/2 and as of 11/2, they look terrible. She has 3 pairs of shoes that she rotates so they have not been worn much at all. Sad to say the Target pair and some random Kenneth Cole shoes look far better than these do. I expect Lands' End to be our go-to for the whole year.

Suede is Stupid
My daughter's school made these shoes mandatory for the dress uniform, and the ONLY positive thing I can say is they stay on - but wouldn't any shoe that had a strap stay on? After the first wear, one day on the mulch playground, they look TERRIBLE. Some of the fake suede wore off on the toe the first day, as if she'd worn them for an entire school year. We had an earlier version of this shoe last year and had the exact same problem - so this rubbing off of the fake suede is no fluke - and my daughter is not hard on shoes, the ones from Target look great until they don't fit anymore. It's a simply a poor choice if material for children who actually play outside. Did Lands End not "test" these new and improved mary janes? On children who actually go outside? Or just on models when they take photos for their website? Do not buy these unless you have to. A total waste of money.

Excellent for school uniform and more
My daughter just started kindergarten and has a uniform. The shoes at the uniform store were too wide for her narrow feet. These shoes are perfect. The color is a true navy. The rubber sole is excellent for traction on the playground and the tile hallway floors. Plus the velcro closing is quick and easy for her to do. She love them. I got an extra pair in the next size up for when she outgrows these. The quality is quite good which is a big plus since she wears them daily.

Perfect Shoe
This shoe is perfect for school and dress. Fits beautifully and looks great. My daughter wears a school uniform and usually all we find are the clunky black shoes. My daughter loves them and says they are comfortable for all-day wear. You cannot beat the price, the comfort, or the looks.
