Description

At Lands' End, the basic Box Pleat Skirt is anything but basic.

  • Crisp pleats look freshly-pressed from the dryer
  • Resists fading and staining to look great wash after wash
  • Girl sizes: Adjustable waist lets her tweak the fit
  • Little Girls sizes: Back elastic prevents gapping in back
  • Above-the-knee-length hem
  • Receive Preferred School contribution with purchase

Box Pleat Skirt is surrounded by crisp pleats that look freshly-pressed straight from the dryer so getting dressed is easy for her and keeping them neat is easy on Mom. That's because the fabric shrugs off wrinkles - especially after a warm tumble through the dryer. Take them out promptly to hang and they're ready to go. 65% polyester/35% rayon fabric resists fading and staining, too, so they look great class after class, wash after wash. Adjustable tabs in the waist let her refine the fit. Above-the-knee-length. Back elastic in the little girl size prevents gapping when she sits. Machine wash. Imported.

Not nice looking; too short I returned this to Sears. Didn't care for fabric and ran way too large albeit my daughter is super skinny. I prefer the longer skirts on her. This one didn't look right with the blazer. October 5, 2012
Nice skirt, but shorter than I wanted This is a nice skirt and the waist was fine, but it was too short for my tall daughter. We were really expecting it to be a little longer, so we returned it. Otherwise, the quality was fine. August 18, 2012
Looks great! My daughter is tall and thin and this skirt fit great around the waist for the size we chose, and it was long enough for our school dress code. Recommend? Check! September 20, 2011
Nice fabric, but a tad short. The waist is fine, but the skirt is a tad short. Just another inch would be helpful! September 17, 2011
Nice skirt. This is my absolute favorite! The fit is great. It goes with most tops. I will be ordering it in a bigger size so that my daughter will have one next year. September 6, 2011
So surprised at the negative reviews! I bought two of these skirts when they were back ordered. My daughter is a very slim 7, so I ordered a 6 and it fits really well. I did have to take the waist in with the elastic, but we always do with her. I also didn't find it short at all. She's a pretty average height for her age. On a side note, did anyone really expect that you wouldn't have to iron this? They are pleats. Why LE even attempts to promise such a thing is beyond me. my daughter loves the skirt ,and I will definitely buy another. Hopefully, I don't encounter the same issues as the other reviewers. For now, we're happy! August 28, 2011
Beautiful Skirt, Just Didn't Work For My Daughter I liked the skirt, it just didn't hang right on my daughter. August 25, 2011
Nice looking skirt. Surprisingling light weight. Length is good - waist is a large, but workable. After reading reviews about this skirt fitting big, and possibly short, I had to decide which was more important to me - the length of the skirt or the fit at the waist. Since this was to be used as a school uniform, I hedged my bets on a larger size to make sure that the length was school compliant. The length was great, but the waist (as forewarned) was large. However, I was afraid that it would be unacceptably large since my girls tend to be on the skinny side, and that was not the case. They cinched it up with the adjustable waist elastic and it looked fine. It did not look like a "balloon" as one reviewer described. It is a bit odd that the adjustment can only be made on one side of the skirt, but as noted, it still looked fine. The skirt was surprisingly lightweight which my girls are not used to. Without wearing shorts underneath, they feel like they have "nothing on". This is probably great for those in warmer climates. At first I thought that this skirt was a little bit pricey for the lack of "heft". But, then I realized that some might think this is a good price for such a lightweight, nice looking material. I also ended up getting some "skorts" (a misnomer, since these are actually just a skirt with a sewn in pair of shorts underneath) which were less expensive (almost half of the price) and had a better fit at the waist. The material of the "skorts" was also heavier weight. However, the pleats in the "skorts" are a bit crazy, and this, along with the heavier weight material, give the "skort" a more rugged and casual appearance than this very nice looking box pleat skirt. Ridiculously short! Not appropriate for school. This skirt is more like a tennis skirt. It does not belong in the school uniform category. Our school would call home if she tried to wear it. VERY SHORT. It is going back. November 28, 2010
Very disappointed Awful fit and too short. Same review as everyone else. The photo and the description made the skirt sound great. I was so disappointed when it arrived and it was like a mini skirt on my children - poor uniform length. I think sizing at LE is always off for my children, polos are too long, skirts too short, pants baggy around the waist and too long in length :-( September 30, 2010
