The best socks on the market
I've looked high and low for a good quality wool sock, and these are the best that I have found. They fit well and last a very long time. I still think that years ago, Lands End sold socks made of a more substantial wool, but these are still the best I have found anywhere.

too loose for me
The quality was good, but the sizing didn't work for me. I typically wear and 8 1/2 shoe and the medium was way too big.

not what they once were
I bought several pairs of these years ago and absolutely loved them. They held up very well. I would have recommended those socks highly. Of course they did eventually wear out and I came here to order more. Unfortunately, they are not what they used to be. These new ones didn't survive a single season. Not at all what I've come to expect from Land's End. Fortunately I found Darn Tough has a light crew sock similar and perhaps even better than the ones I bought here years ago.

Good sock but thin material and shrinks in dryer
I have used these socks for 15 years and I agree with another review that now these socks are thinner than from earlier versions and they shrink in the dryer so I let them air dry on top of the dryer. I wish the sock had some spandex and wish LE offered an XL as I wear these year round. I have found many LE products such as shirts are shorter that earlier versions and thinner.

Too thin, too long
These socks are too long and too thin. I have used these socks for years, and when the new order arrived I compared them with my old socks ordered several years ago. The new socks are considerably thinner than the older ones, and much longer, up over my calf. The new socks seem more like the cotton socks from Lands End; they don't have the wooly feel that the older socks have. I am returning these socks. I should have paid more attention to the review on this page that complained of the same problems.

Great quality
These are very good socks; medium is definitely large enough for my size 10.5-11 foot. They do not shrink to size "very small" in the dryer like the Gold Toe socks I took back to Macy's.
Wish Land'send still carried this in a dress crew length sock for warm days I'm not in an air-conditioned office.

Great quality and value
These socks are as good or better than more expensive pairs I've seen - they always stay up properly, and survive more wash cycles than other brands.

thin, long, stretchy
The material is thin, stretches way big, and the top goes well above mid-calf. It's clearly a high-quality sock--but a medium will fit a size-10 foot, and the wearer will have to double up to get the same amount of thickness between foot and shoe. Plus, if you're looking for a not-too-far-over-the-ankle sock, these are not them. I'm really disappointed.
