Not quite what I though but still worth buying This coat is a bit 'squarer' than it appears in the pics but then again maybe it'll settle down after a few wears or a cleaning. The sleeves are about 1 inch too long (very much in line with other reviews of this product) but it might come in handy when I'm holding an umbrella (often) as my arm will be bent, shortening the sleeve. The fabric feels a bit thin but it won't pile which is good. The weight is nice (obviously thicker material would have made the coat somewhat heavier) and the way it is stitched looks excellent. In fact the construction looks flawless. Overall this isn't quite the product I thought I was getting but I'm not disappointed either. It doesn't feel or look like a $600 coat as it does look in the pics - but hey guess what - it ain't bad for less than half that price. Delivery was unbelievable. It was shipped off from the US one Thursday in April and ended up at my desk at work in Australia the following Thursday ... not bad! Yes, I recommend this. April 13, 2013
Polished Look but Fits Big The quality is what I expected. It isn't too heavy and does have a nice texture. It fits on the bigger side. I normally wear a 38S or 38R but I went with a small which fit perfectly. February 23, 2013
High Quality Wonderful product for the price. Great fabric, fit. My son loves it! January 7, 2013
Good fit over a suit, warm. Only gave it four out of five because it arrived with the collar a bit wrinkled in shipping which is hard to iron out. My husband likes it - says it is warm. Waterproof is nice too. The length is good - long enough to be warm on the legs but not too long. Seems to fit true to size. No need to size up to accommodate a suit - go with your jacket size. Bigger than the advertized size I love the design and wool+cashmere. My suit size is 38S. I wasn't sure of my size for this, esp. after reading the reviews, so I consulted a customer rep. via online chat. After taking my body statistics, he/she recommended size M. My other Claiborne winter coat is also size M. So, I ordered it online, but it turned out that this coat is too big for me. I should probably fit nice with size S. I returned it and bought a different brand, same design at lower price from Macy (w/o cashmere) that has precisely size 38S that fit me nicely. Got to give credit for return from Land's End is easy. Outstanding coat and outstanding value I am a professional whose appearance is important, and I need to stay warm and dry when walking to appointments in the winter. I own an expensive Italian wool overcoat and a "prestigious label" lined trench coat, but wanted something warmer and still water resistant. This overcoat is soft, warm and water resistant. The coat, even though sized only as an XL, fits perfectly. This is the best bargain I have ever found in outerwear. December 9, 2012
Another Land's End winner! My husband is 6'2" with 36" sleeves. We can always count on Land's End Tall to fit perfectly. We got this coat in camel. As is their standard, it is very well made, nicely lined and detailed. This is a classic style which will be worn for many years, being warm and comfortable. December 9, 2012
Can't Lift Arms I bought this for my brother hoping it would help keep him warm during a trip to a colder climate. He is 6'6" with a lean build and broad shoulders. I looked at the sizing chart and chose a Medium Tall. The coat looks and feels nice and he can get it on easily, but it is a little broad across the chest (he looked at me and said "Tall does not equal fat") and the sleeves might be a little short. The biggest problem, though, is that the sleeve design seems intended to keep one's arms firmly by one's sides. If he raises his arms, the whole coat rides up his back and the sleeves get too tight across his upper arms. He doesn't have Superman biceps or anything. I put it on myself for comparison (I am about 5'8", also lean build but err the other gender and I DEFINITELY do not have Superman biceps) and when I raised my arms I had the same problem though not as severe (though needless to say the coat is otherwise too big for me). Grabbing the handrail on public transit would be very awkward in this. So, while it's a very nice coat aside from the sleeve problem, I will be returning it. It's too bad -- I did want it to work for him. December 4, 2012
Too big and too wrinkled I used the size chart and it couldn't have been more off. Sleeves past my fingertips and way too big off the shoulders. November 9, 2012
Great overcoat I am 5'7" and slim. I order a small size Overcoat, and it fit me perfectly if i have a suit on. Recommend to anyone. October 28, 2012
