Excellent quality, fit and finish
I've been reading a number of user reviews stating the Lands' End quality has been on a downward spiral over the last few years. This vest is the exception to the claims of the nay-sayers, or perhaps the portent of an upswing in quality. I've purchased down vests from Lands' End in the past (for myself or gifts for others) and some have been great and others just serviceable. This Wool Down Vest is fantastic! It has great features: two-way zipper (never used personally but nice to have if you want to unzip from the bottom), storm flap with snaps (extra warmth and wind block), zippered side pockets, water resistant wool outer shell (whoever thought of that deserves a raise), extra long tail (also known up here in Canada as the kidney protector - hockey reference, perhaps?), and of course the warmth offered by lofty down. The wool seems so much more robust than the typically thin polyester/nylon and has a more rugged look and feel. I got the Heather Grey colour and it seems to complement much of my wardrobe from jeans to khakis to dress twills. The fit is slightly large as others have commented so I sized down (to a L) and it works great. For reference, I am 6'0", 212 lbs, 46R, 36" waist, athletic build. By far my favourite vest by LE and I hope they continue to produce quality items like this in the future.

Need something to keep you warm while you work? This is the vest.
Was headed north and needed a new vest for that warm layer. While I was active outside, temp in the 30's, this vest was perfect and the two-way zipper is really handy. It made a great inner layer under my heavy coat when I was just out and about but not active enough stay warm otherwise. I am on the boarder between medium and large, so I took the advise of the other reviewers and got the medium. It was just right allowing for my heavy shirt and a sweater under it if I had wanted. So do NOT buy a size up, rather follow the size chart. All in all it looks realy good and keeps you feeling toasty...

"A tad big"
This vest does run a little big, but i dont mind because I layer alot! Also the collar isnt very comfortable, only stand-up! other than those issues, its very warm and durable!

Handsome versatile vest
Love the combination of WOOL with down.... warm and functional, handsome too. Bought it for my husband, who has worn it snowmobiling and will wear it for everyday things as well....

Exceptional!
Great fit and surprizingly warm. Unique texture that adds that extra something. Great pockets. Great with jeans on the weekend or with khakis for office casual. Water resistant too. Never was able to find a perfect vest until now. A definite buy! NO REGRETS.
