Men's Wool Commuter Duffle Coat
After one winter, it looked haggard
I bought a Land's End duffel coat after a lot of searching and narrowing down. I bought Land's End specifically because of its reputation for quality. I have now worn this coat for one season, and I wish I had spent my money elsewhere. I wear the coat for business commuting and for little else, but even with this limited amount of wear, the whole thing has started to pill, making it look like I've worn it for 10 years.
Another complaint I have with it is that the lack of an interior lining means that it isn't nearly as warm as the weight would suggest. In a wind chill of 30 or lower, you need to bundle up underneath the coat in order to stay warm.
I will say, Land's End has an excellent return policy, which is basically indefinite. I'm going to return it and buy something nicer.

Great Item, Great Price!
I wanted one of these coats for years and my wife finally convinced me to order one, bless her. I am 5'6" with a 42 in chest so I ordered the large size the fit is great but sleeves are a bit long but better than too short, a minor alteration will solve that. The attention to detail on the coat is everything I expected. The side pockets are deep and no chance that my cell phone will fall out. The inside pockets are deep enough that they are actually useful. My only problem is we are going thru a warm spell and will be a couple of days before I will be able to wear it for more than hour or so. I wish I would have bought this coat several years ago.

Fits 6'2" and lanky w/ broad shoulders
I'm 6'2" and lanky with broad shoulders -- based on other reviews I ordered the medium and it fits swell! It's maybe a touch big in the gut but not horrible; the most important thing is that it fits me in the sleeves/chest/shoulder without me totally swimming in it. I rated it as "fits very big" because I think a person who generally buys a medium would find it to be very large. I like how traditional the style is -- so much that I bought both colors! I've noticed that it does pill in areas of friction, but I have a de-piller.

The perfect coat for daily use.
I love the coat, and tried to buy it in the store, but you sold out of my size, xl, early. I ordered it online and spent a little more online than in the store, but I really wanted it. My only complaint is the sleeve length.
The sleeves go too far down, covering half of my hand. When I spoke to a LE sales associate that I know well, he told me that sleeve length has been a problem this season. Many customers have needed to take the coat to their tailor to have the sleeves adjusted to the desired length. Looks like I'll be doing the same. Otherwise, the coat is great. When I was in my younger days these coats were called "stadium coats". I had one when I was in high school and college. I'm glad have one again.
