Great Traditional All Cotton Pinpoint Dress Shirt
This is not a non-iron shirt as the previous reviewers stated...that is a separate product that is available from Lands End and is an excellent dress shirt in it's own right. This is an all cotton shirt that needs ironing or should be sent to the cleaners. It is extremely soft cotton, very comfortable, durable and looks and wears great. This is a traditional all cotton pinpoint and I'll put it up there with any of the others available, including Brooks Brothers, Gitman Brothers, and Robert Talbott. It's a great shirt and a great value!

It is what we ordered but ordered wrong
We thought this was a no iron shirt. Washed the first time and it came out a wrinkled mess. It irons good, but not what we wanted. Had to keep one send other back to order pinpoint no wrinkle, which we love.

are they phasing this out??
There are about two or three sizes available for this shirt now. It looks as if Lands End is making the big mistake of going to 100% no iron. They got their start partly due to the desire for an alternative to polyester. No iron isn't as bad as polyester was, but you can still tell it is chemically treated. Also, from the other reviews, it looks as if this last gasp of plain cotton is pretty poor quality. Bring back the good old ironing-required pinpoints and oxfords, Lands End.

A shirt without the non-wrinkle finish!
My husband will not wear the treated cotton shirts that do not wrinkle. Why has everyone stopped making plain cotton shirts? This is the only shirt that Lands End makes without the wrinkle treatment, according to the operator. We first came to Lands End many years ago because they had shirts that were 100% cotton - not polyester. What happened, Lands End? Would you please make a dress shirt without the finish also?? The quality of this shirt was OK, but nothing special. I doubt that it will last as long as the old Lands End dress shirts.

poor quality
The description said 80s 2 ply which I've ordered in the past and been very satisfied with. This shirt is transparent. Very disappointed!!!

Pinpoint material is tranparently thin.
Pinpoint material is transparently thin. Looks more like a cheap poplin than a 100% cotton pinpoint. An obvious drop in quality from Land Ends previous pinpoints. Shame. No longer a good value.

Pass on this shirt !
I just ordered some of these in blue and white and immediately sent them back. I have been purchasing dress shirts from Lands End for over 30 years. The clothe quality is poor and the white is almost see through. These are made in China. The blue is an off color and is called "Blue Jay". I thought I was ordering what I normally get which was 245195-AJ6. That shirt is their traditional Pinpoint button down shirt (not a "No Iron") and inside the collar says "Supima Pinpoint Oxford" even though the description does not describe the shirt as Supima. It is a good value for the dollar.
They need to take the 427307-AJ8 out of their lineup. I would rate it as 0 boats but you have to pick something.

A Major Disappointment
I was a HUGE fan of the apparently-discontinued Lands' End perma-press oxford cloth shirts. They wore like iron, buttons never came off, looked great coming out of the dryer, and held a crease forever if sent to a laundry. Those shirts were actually wearable for over eight years. Best of all, the price was perfect for us civil servants on a budget.
Since those awesome shirts are no longer available, and I was assigned to a unit where I have to wear dress shirts most days, I purchased a number of these traditional fit pinpoint buttondown shirts. I can't believe Lands' End allowed their label to be attached to these poor quality shirts. The buttons fall off with ease (and terrible timing); each of the five shirts I bought have lost one or more buttons in the 4 months since I got them. They wrinkle easily, and look like they were slept in after coming out of the dryer. The fabric doesn't breathe very well, the collars hold dirt like a magnet...in short, these shirts are the polar opposite of my old oxford cloth favorites. Once I've run out of the replacement buttons sewn on the shirttails, I will give these shirts to the Goodwill collection bin. While I may spring for one or two Hyde Park oxford cloth shirts, those will probably be the last shirts I purchase from Lands' End. I certainly will NOT buy any more of these second-rate dress shirts.

cheap material, shrinks badly, wrinkles like crazy
When I got the shirt, I tried it on immediately. It fit perfectly and looked great! After I washed it, it was a different story -- and a different shirt. Once the sizing washed out, the shirt was a mass of wrinkles. Of course, it wasn't advertised as no-iron, so I expected to iron it -- but I also expected that ironing it would remove the wrinkles, which it hasn't entirely done. In addition, the shirt shrank so much that my size sixteen collar is now a fifteen-and-a-half. I've never received a bad dress shirt from Lands End before, but this one is the pits.
