Should have been withdrawn and not sold
I have masses of Lands End clothes and have them shipped from USA to the UK as the bigger sizes do not get added to the UK catalogue for some reason, so I am a loyal customer of many years standing and dont like to give a review this bad.
The comfort waist design is completely flawed, as a movement of less than half an inch exposes white pocket material. There is no way round this and to make matters worse, they fit smaller than all my other Lands End trousers and jeans. The sale price is not a good enough excuse, they should never have been made available to the public.
Regrettably I am stuck with them as the postage is too much to make a return worth it, but thats a cross I have to bear !! Come on Lands End, get a grip.

Super Pants!!
Extremely pleased with these. Perfect fit, loved the feel of the material, and styling. I had been a bit skeptical about buying these b/c of comments here about possible exposure of the pocket material when the waist was stretched but have not found this to be a problem whatsoever and seems to be a result of overexpansion at the waist if the pants are too small for whatever reason. Would make sure you're ordering the correct waist size.

awkard design leads to unattractive fit
The comfort-waist design seems unnecessarily complicated and tends to show the white pocket lining (or worse, undergarments!!) when the pants shift on the body in the natural course of sitting/standing/walking around during the day. Extremely unattractive. Also, the front of the pants are OPEN at the front of the pocket area and it is very easy to slip a pen or similar smallish object down into the pants rather than the pocket. The opening also makes these pants drafty--not nice at all in cold weather.

Very Very Very Comfortable!
My husband absolutely LOVES his new pants. They are so comfortable, and he can sit in them all day at work. Excellent for both work and play. He has the umber colour, very rich colour. Another colour is on the way, the washed black ones. Too bad there are not many colour to choose from. He normally wears 34 x 32, and the new pants are true to the size. Highly recommended!

Great fit, comfortable, good color selection
I have 6-7 pair of these pants and they are my favorites. I have a 31 in. Inseam which is impossible to find on the rack in stores, but all sizes are available through Lands End. They have not shrunk in the wash like many other corduroy jeans, and have maintained their color well. I wear them almost daily in the colder months. For those who have complained about the white elastic showing next to the pockets, you are buying too small of a waist size and overstretching the waistband. The whole idea behind the comfort waist is to allow a little room for expansion, not to kid yourself into thinking you have a smaller waist size.

Nice feel, good price, details a bit off
Tested my new corduroy jeans during a very cold week 's visit in New York City --rain, snow, wind. I stayed warm and the pants stayed in good shape. In fact, I'm wearing them as I write this. My only negative is noticing that the finish is not quite as sophisticated as my chino confort-waist pants, especially around the comfort-waist itself. It remains to be seen whether they will last as long as the chinos have. Otherwise, these jeans are a good buy.

Great corduroy material, feel, fit
Love corduroys and these are terrrific, no iron if taken out right after dryer stops, fits well, looks nice! I recommend to anyone who enjoys corduroys.

A big mistake in construction.
This is the first product of the hundreds great products I have bought from Lands End that I have returned because of quality. The comfort waist design is made so that the expansion section is over the front pockets, so even the slightest expansion reveals the white material of the pocket, making it appear that you are wearing torn pants. I strongly urge you not to buy these, and frankly they should be removed from sale. Bean's does it right with the expansion panels on the side of the pants.
