Men's Tailored Wool Flannel Coat 3.8 5 13 13
Not a slim fit I am six feet tall, 170 pounds. The size 40 regular of this jacket is tight in the shoulders and upper chest, yet too large in the belly area. It is not what I would consider a "slim" fit. I am returning it. April 17, 2013
If you have broad shoulders, this runs very small My son normall wears a 42 jacket, and I ordered that size, but the jacket was way too small across his shoulders. If you're not broad, this jacket might work. I thought the tailored fit would be good because sometimes the regular 42's are too loose around the middle, but this is just cut smaller all around. Also, I wasn't crazy about the fabric. It has a slight shine to it that I think cheapens it. I also think it looks very much like a suit jacket, versus a sport coat. It definitely needs to be worn with dress pants, and not a less dressy pant as could be worn with a sport coat. Overall, for the price, it is a pretty nice jacket, if you're slender all over. Nice fit My husband will only wear suits from Land's End now. The "tailored fit" fits just like a custom made suit. The quality of the fabric is impeccable. You get a lot at a reasonable price. Jacket is true to size. January 7, 2013
Great Jacket Fits nice- looks great- very good quality. January 6, 2013
Perfectly Tailored Jacket I looked for months in search of a good quality charcoal jacket, and this fit the bill perfectly. The shoulder pads are minimal, avoiding any Frankenstein look I hate in many suit jackets and blazers. The 100% worsted wool shell is light and comfortable. The cut is formal, but not too formal as the jacket works well with dark denim jeans or chinos. The sleeve length is perfect. The tailored fit makes for a great off-the-rack purchase with no tailoring required. I'd wait for a sale and then definitely pull the trigger on this one if you're looking for a well-fitted charcoal jacket addition to your wardrobe. The color is very versatile, and when worn as a suit separate, it's not obviously a suit jacket in need matching suit pants. Well played LE. January 5, 2013
Too long... I am 5' 10" and fit. This jacket fits well but too long for me....really? you can't make a regular jacket for person with my height? Quality is very good for the price, too bad its going back. December 17, 2012
Great value and a true slim fit This suit color is a dark brown-gray stripe that is distinctive and will be versatile. It also is my first tailored-fit suit from Lands' End, and based on this suit, I would buy another one. December 9, 2012
Excellent suit The description "Tailored Fit" is rather apt. If you expect this to be a roomy jacket, look elsewhere. The jacket does fit closely in the shoulders, but it's not restrictive, either. I have a 46" chest, and the 46R fits me very well. I purchased one over a year ago, and purchased another one a week ago because I have been so happy with it. The cut is sharp and close, and overall comfortable. On top of that, I've received more compliments on this jacket that anything I've ever owned. December 4, 2012
Have a tailor on hand Not a bad fit. Following the advice of past reviews, ordered a 39R rather than a 38R, my brother's usual size. The slightly larger size fit fine in the shoulders and chest but was loose at the sides and hips. Will have this taken to a tailor and taken in / tapered slightly in those areas. Fabric feels great, though ... not like flannel. It's not the thickest material, but we live in California. With a little TLC by your friendly neighborhood tailor, though, this will be a great suit for a great price. November 13, 2012
Need to be a little taller than average and slender This suit is cut a little longer than the traditional version. You can clearly see this in the men's catalog. Compare the length of the jacket on the black man advertising this suit with the older white man with glasses. It is easy to spot the added length on the jacket. Too bad. The brunette man in this page is probably very tall. If you are tall 6ft-ish, you should definitely consider this suit. It is fine. I ordered the 38R in navy and it looks like something Obama would were. It buttons low and have a nice high end sheen. September 26, 2012
