Description

Timeless tweed.

  • Comfortable wool blend fabric
  • Lined sleeves and half back
  • Side vents
  • One inside pockets
  • Oilcloth elbow patches
  • Tailored Fit: trimmer, for a cleaner look
  • Two-button front

While inspired by the classic stalking coat, this is built for comfort in the urban environment. Soft construction removes some of the layers and linings found in traditional jackets, creating a lighter-weight coat with natural shoulders. Other details make it truely something special: sleeves lined in Bemberg® rayon — the standard for silkiness. Leather braid buttons, including those at the three front pockets and the functional sleeve buttonholes. And the fabric is a remarkably soft and durable 75% wool/25% nylon blend. Side vents, one inside pocket. Dry clean. Imported.

Men's Tailored Fit Wool Melange Two-button Jacket 4.2 5 12 12
Nice jacket I like the style and the fit. November 10, 2012
Great if you have a very lean build. Wonderful detail, fabric and look but needs a very lean body for it to be right. Otherwise, a great jacket. October 13, 2012
Husband loves this jacket. My husband loves this jacket. It's definitely warm...the wool makes sure of that. So it's not great for anyone who hopes to wear it during a warm-ish fall season. Fit was great; tailored. I respectfully disagree with the comments made previously about it being a cheap-feeling jacket. Feels and looks very nice...and English. The color in reality is darker than the photos here, but that was a welcome surprise. September 19, 2012
Perfect Fit And Look For Me I just received this jacket and because it's still high summer I won't be able to wear it out until the heat breaks. However, I have tried it on and my initial feelings are overwhelmingly positive. As others have said, it does run a bit small and on the slender side so I'm glad I ordered a 42R instead of my usual 40R. This size fits me perfectly -- in the shoulders, arms, and waist. I will say that if you have longer than normal arms this jacket is probably not for you. The woolen material is not quite as dark or monochromatic as the photo implies. It's more of a British olive drab. One reviewer complained that it has a militaristic look, but to my mind it has more of the feel of an English Norfolk jacket. Jeans and a mock turtle would go well with it. If I have any minor criticisms it's that there is no interior breast pocket (there is an interior cell phone pocket which is good) and that it's a two button jacket; I think three buttons would be a better look. The inside is half lined, which isn't a big deal to me, but I have wondered about the reason for this in other jackets that I own. But, all in all, I'm very happy with this purchase, especially considering the great sale price I got. July 26, 2012
This is a lovely jacket, however, I returned it. It is very much a militaristic look, more so than the pictures may make clear. The jacket is well constructed, and fits a bit on the tight side, however, the attention to detail is nice. What you have to be prepared for is the distinctively (and perhaps anachronistically) militaristic look. Ultimately, I returned it because my girlfriend thought it just crossed that line for me -- I couldn't quite pull it off. Others may appreciate the look, and may well be able to pull it off. Nothing special in reality, do not cost the asked price even with the sale tag. Well, I was really disappointed with this jacket. It is not soft at all, quite rough by touch, too long but the shoulder size seems to be right. The sleeves are too long as well. Will try to fix the length at the local sewing store. But all together, I would not recommend it to anyone. January 27, 2012
Definitely NOT worth the great amount of $ This is one cheap looking jacket! Nothing special about the color. Buttons are bulky and very difficult to button. The finishing inside has trimmings of a completely different color, and of different material, outrageous, typical of cheap products. And no lining in the horizon, by the way! Even the elbow patches in this jacket are wrong: they are of some cheap material and way too high in the sleeves, defeating their original purpose—and tradition! We used to buy Land's End all the time. But for the last 6 or 8 years every time we buy we are highly disappointed and end up returning. January 12, 2012
Much better and more destinctive than described Not mentioned in the description is that this is a "half Norfolk"....there is a belt in the back. Also it has rolled shoulders and true button through cuffs. All "very English" features. If you bought this in England it would be pretty expensive, so it's a great value here. January 8, 2012
Just what I wanted and expected...perfect Slightly snug fit January 7, 2012
seems great, but the 44regular is a 44long The size chart and web page clearly say this is a 44 regular, but the inside of the jacket is labeled 44 long in two places and the sleaves are, in fact, very long. Had to send back. Too bad, it was a nice jacket. I thought about having it tailored, but decide to send back. January 2, 2012
