Being a plainweave fabric, poplin is naturally smooth. But there are techniques that can increase the smoothness, and we go to town with them. First, with yarns of 100% cotton that is combed to remove short, weak fibers. Yarns that are single ply, to minimize texture when they overlap. Yet the yarn is strong: the 40s diameter is the same as in our Hyde Park Oxford (although this fabric doesn’t have the Hyde Park’s weight, because of the different weave). 100% cotton. Machine wash. Imported.
