This is a really nice cap…albeit a bit pricy. The cap is nylon with a full fleece lining and the bill can be shaped as you please. I have a 24½ head and this cap fits very well with the cord lock adjustment fully extended. I'm a picky kind of a guy and to me, this Squall Cap looks really good, although it's not a fashion statement, but more of a "block heater" to keep one's head and ears warm. I also have a couple of the previous generation examples of the LE Men's Squall Cap with an adjustment strap in the back. I believe the earlier model is a somewhat better design…primarily because, on the previous variant, there is a bit of elastic at the back of the earflap panel (around the back of the neck) and the flaps are fashioned into a cup, if you will, that encloses each ear better than this newer one does. The earlier version also has a fleece sweatband that this topper does not have. This cap is the perfect companion and colour match to the excellent Lands End line of Squall outerwear. Performance proven on the Canadian prairie!

Adjustable Size a Plus
The great thing about this hat is that the size is adjustable. That is, you can wear it relatively loose for comfort on balmy days or cinch it down when the wind is howling. (I have an older model with a strap and clip; I presume the new model with some kind of toggle does the same thing.) The ear flaps don't keep the ears entirely covered in a wind, but some is better than nothing. And, with the flaps up, you look like a dork....but that's the look up here in Maine in the winter. Lastly, it's light and flexible enough to stuff into a pocket or the sleeve of your jacket.

Nice hat but runs small
The hat has nice features, fleece lining, large duck bill visor & ear flaps. Purchased for my husband but had to exchange for the next larger size. Size up if you purchase this hat. The SM/M seemed like it would fit a childs head instead of a medium adult head.

Great for outdoorsman
Got this cap for my husband for Christmas - he wears hats frequently and is particular about which ones he prefers. Although he was initially skeptical about its weather-resistance, upon wearing it several times, he is quite pleased wiht it for cold-weather use. Perfect for shoveling snow, walking in the woods in cold weather. He says hat is very warm, stays dry, and good for windy weather too.

Poor quality
I didn't like this cap. It is made of very thin that felt very cheap to me. It also didn't fit well at all. I sent it back.

a hat for gals and guys who want warm ears and a toasty head
This hat its great, and the sizing is perfect. Do not pay any attention to the fit of the product - in order to give a review I had 2 options, to small or to big, I chose the latter. BUT MY HAT FIT JUST FINE ACCORDING TO THE CHOICES WHEN ORDERING. I ordered a small/medium and I could not be happier. Although the hat is imported - not the ideal, the quality is fine. And I love that it came in a selection of colors as well. I wear this hat everywhere - to the grocery, when I am visiting someone, when I am working outside. I even wear it in my S-10 when my neck gets cold. The bill is just the right size for keeping your eyes shaded as well.
A year ago I lost my other hat that I had ordered from Lands End 15 + years ago. I was very upset and literally cried, the hat was that important. It is hard to find a hat that has a warm lining and a knit flap for the ears. very few companies make them, and some of those hats from other companies are downright ugly, but not Lands End.

Nice cap
Nice cap for colder weather. However, I would have preferred that the adjustmet unit was still the older type with the strap and clip instead of the small cord and toggle-lock.

LOVE this cap and it really IS waterproof!
I was skeptical about it really being waterproof but it IS! Rain beads on it and then just shakes off. It's lined with a lovely, soft fleece that makes it nice and warm as well. Really like the ear flaps for added warmth. Not sure how you'd get them to fold up as tight as shown in the image here, though, they do stick out a bit if folded up.
Hat was definitely bigger than I expected but there's an adjustable elastic on the back so I was able to make it tighter.
