Fantastic bargin - ideal for the cold months
The jacket fits me perfectly; excellent lining & very warm, ideal for the upcoming winter. Good service and fast delivery for a product shipped half way around the world. Buying this type of Anorak in my country of origin would cost three times the amount paid after currency conversion & shipping.

Men's Squall Anorak
This jacket is very much like a pop-over hooded sweatshirt?only waterproof and a whole lots warmer. There's a side zipper and a zipper at the neck that make for easy on and off. Zippered hand warmer micro fleece pockets and a generously sized, zippered kangaroo pouch (which also has a flap with velcro closure). I'm a big guy with some excess in the middle and I find this jacket fits just like a standard zippered jacket?nice and roomy, but not too much. The hood is attached and has elastic cord adjustments around the face and at the back to adjust the depth of the hood. Since, by the nature of its design, it is just a bit more difficult to put on and remove, I use mine when I'm planning to be out in the elements for an extended period. With proper layering, this jacket is really nice and toasty, all the while being waterproof and windproof. Why an anorak instead of a standard front zip jacket? Because it's different and looks slick, of course! Why this one? Because it's a Lands End Squall and the price is right, of course! 'Nuff said.

He likes it!
I bought my husband this jacket in blue for Christmas. I was a little worried because he's very particular about jackets and usually only buys high-end outerwear. He likes it! It was -2 degrees during the daytime throughout our Christmas travels, and he said this jacket kept him nice and warm with just a long-sleeved tee underneath, and that it's soft and comfy inside. I ordered a Tall Large for him (he's 6'2, around 200 lbs) and it fits perfectly. His only complaint was that the side zipper won't stay down. It wriggles its way up after a while and lets in a little bit of cold. Still trying to decide if it's worth exchanging or not. Also, the wrist elastic is not terribly soft. He hasn't complained about it, but I, personally, would be put off by it. I'm used to the super-cozy fleece around the wrists of my LE down jacket. ;)

very thick & warm, but easy to move in
This is a great jacket. The fit is similar to a sweatshirt. My son (college aged) wore it to a Giants football game in NY a few days ago on a very cold day, and he was warm. There is a very soft, thick fleece lining. The color is on the bright side, but very nice for a young man--and different from the usual colors jackets come in. It doesn't look like everything else he has. The side zipper makes it easy to get on and off. It's a nice alternative to a regular coat because it is just as warm (or warmer) but he feels like he's wearing a sweatshirt!

Lands End could have done better.....
Saw this product in a pre Christmas catalog and asked the wife to get one for me as a gift. Received it Christmas morning size 2XLT. I own 2 other Squall Jackets and and a half dozen or so other LE items in that size and all fit perfectly except this item. I'm 6'5" tall and 300 pounds. The Anorak is somewhat of a let down compared to other LE items I own. There is a funky side zipper that was not mentioned in the catalog text. Without the zipper however I feel that this item would very difficult to put on as the fleece interior does not like to slide over other clothing especially cotton products. In addition to the fleece there seems to be some sort of insulation which adds bulk and makes it nearly impossible to layer under this item. Echoing other reviewers I have worn this product for 3 days straight for work and the knit cuffs are already starting to fray, the front zipper is hindered by the too tall front pocket and the hood is just a general problem (bulk and poor quality adjustment hardwear. I'm seriously thinking of taking the item to a sewing shop and having the hood cut off and a collar created instead. As stated, I have worn this product for 3 days in weather ranging from 0 to 25 degrees and sunny to blizzard conditions. It is warm and dry to wear with only a light shirt as a base layer (because that's all you can get on underneath it without being movment restricted) and water beads up and rolls off. With all the different colored Squall material available it is a mystery to me why it is only offered in two colors. I originally thought this product could be a replacement for the other well known workwear companies products that I was using ( a heavyweight sweatshirt and a rain shell)(both American made, YES, actually made in America)(and together less expensive that this Anorak) but this is not going to be the case.

Quality good size questionable
I purchased this jacket for a recent trip to Germany ( Christmas 2012). The quality of the jacket was great but the XXL size is questionable. I am 6'3" and 290. The jacket fits ok if you from not wear anything heavy under it. I was OK with a tee shirt and flannel shirt but would have had a hard time with a heaven sweater. The length is fine if you are tall if you order the tall size. The jacket kept the rain and snow away. Like an earlier reviewer, I would have liked the front zipper to have come down farther to give more room.
I will continue to purchase Lands End products.

Great coat at great price!
This coat material quality is very good. The side zipper makes putting on easy and a nice snug fit once zipped up. Great mobility once on. It's very warm and great for doggie walking in winter. Probably good for winter outdoor activity too.

Nice pull-over jacket
This is an very nice pull-over squall. The pouch pocket is a bit high, but very nice for storage. It would get five sail boats if the cuffs didn't start to fray after a week and the hood closures were better. Wish it came in more colors, and more importantly in Women's. The blue color is unisex enough thought that I didn't mind having to get a men's jacket.

Good to Great
Great jacket, fits well but not good for layering. Warm and weather proof - comfortable! Great while sailing!
