Quality and Style
This is a classy jacket, well tailored and well made. The stitching is very thorough, the zipper is robust, and the fabric itself is of a high quality. I like the way it hangs on me, and I like that you can walk around town with it open (unzipped), and not worry about the wind catching it. It's got heft. The lining is also very well done, and cozy.
This jacket runs large, so order a size down. I'm 5'9", 175 lbs and I was happy with the small size. But if you want to wear a heavy sweater under it, you should maybe stick with your normal size.

In general, a useful coat,
In general, a useful coat, warm enough for cold weather and a good fit over a sweater. However, there are several problems. In the rain, the coat absorbs water like a sponge and remains soggy for some time. Re pockets, the split cargo pocket on the left is just a poor design that is a constant annoyance...nothing fits in. There should be an additional inside pocket, and most important, there should be hand warmer pockets behind the two cargo pockets. The upper pockets are nice for stuffing gloves, but are at the wrong angle for placing your hands while walking.
With those shortcomings, I still wear it almost all the time...

Excellent change of pace
I'm a size 38r, and small fits perfectly. I can comfortably wear a medium-weight sweater beneath the jacket. Has a quality look and feel to it, and is warm enough for mid-Atlantic winter nights.

Good material, size down
I'm 6'2", 180 lbs, and usually wear a 42L with sleeve lengths of 34/35. I usually wear a Large in shirts and jackets, but following the advice of other reviews I went with a medium. The sleeve length is just right, although I have slightly short arms for my height. The body is plenty big for layering underneath. The overall length could be an inch or two longer, but it doesn't look too short and I think it makes it easier to wear. The hand warmer pockets are a little high, it would be nice to have side-entry pockets lower down. The split pocket is kind of odd, as others have noted, but it is a good place to put a sunglass or eyeglass case and the other pocket is very large for everything else. When this is on sale, it's certainly the best value in waxed cotton out there. I went with the saddle color, which looks about the same as the picture, maybe slightly darker.

Very nice jacket
I am quite impressed with this jacket. It seems very well made; heavy duty zipper, quality stitching. With the lined inner its warmer than I expected. The waxed cotton isn't excessively oily like some other brands, though maybe that will mean I'll need to rewax it sooner.
I do feel it runs a tad big. I'm 5'11 190 lbs and the small fits me perfectly. I usually wear a medium in other clothing, but the small fits nice and snug on this. If you plan to layer heavily underneath than I'd get your true size, but for something light underneath sizing down is a good idea. I also don't like the split pocket on the left side. Just one big one like the right would be more useful.

I like the coat, but it's too big
It's a great coat, but overall it was just too bulky and didn't match the size (XL is more of a 52 versus a 46-48 in my opinion). I had to go with a size lower.

Solid, Warm and Good Quality
I received this jacket in a timely fashion and I was pleased with the overall design. The jacket is warm and fits perfectly. I was on the fence concerning sizing. I'm 5'9" and pushing 200 lbs with a larger chest, back and arms than waist or belly. My jacket size is 42 reg while my waist is 34. My neck is wide while my sleeve length is on their medium size scale for arm length. So, with a chest for large and sleeve length for medium I went with the large and it fits surprisingly well. If I layer up, which I don't really need to in this jacket, it becomes a bit snug.
The fit is great, the construction seems as good as other outfitters, the only flaw or design issue I have is with the separated pocket on the bottom left. Absolutely unnecessary and drives me bonkers.
I bought the rust color which for the most part is deep brown with an orange tint.

Incredible coat, but buy a size down.
The oilcloth on this coat is phenomenal and the detailing is just perfect for a go-to casual coat in the colder months. I'm pretty tough to satisfy, but Lands' End sometimes has really solid basics at great prices. This coat and the Hyde Park tailored fit oxford shirts are among the best.
I will note that I am 5'11", 165 lbs, and regularly wear a 39R (if I can find an odd size). Lands' End recommends that I order a medium, but I ordered a small and it's a perfect fit. The sleeves are dead on (I would guess around 24.5" - 25") and the coat is just big enough that I can comfortably wear it over an oxford and a sweater.

Nice jacket
I'm 5'8" 160 lbs and went with a S. Sleeves, chest, and shoulders fit me well. It's a bit loose in the midsection area because I'm guessing its made for guys with more of a belly. The body of the jacket seemed long to me but looking at the pic of the model on here, it's long on him too so I'm guessing its designed to be that way. The waxed cotton feels very sturdy like it could handle a beating. Lining on the inside is soft and warm. It hasn't been really cold here yet but the jacket has kept me warm in 40 degree temps so far.

What an amazing value!
This jacket has it all and for far less than the competitors in this category of waxed cotton jackets. Snapped sleeves allow for larger layering underneath or closed off from the elements. Many different pockets & pocket sizes to keep you organized. The quilted flannel lining is nice and cozy. The rust color is just perfect where many competitors only offer the standard off-olive in the same style jacket. I'm seriously tempted to pick up the other color. The sleeves are probably 31" on the Small, but that was perfect for me while the chest was right on for someone w/ a 36-38" chest with room for a little layering appropriate to the season. Again, with the usual Lands End promos you could easily save $300+ on the exact same style of jacket made by Barbour or other competitors. Truly spectacular. I wish I had not missed the boat on the warmer quilted version with the sherpa collar. Lesson learned.
