Excellent product: both the look and functionality
The coat is very practical and does not need a lot care/washes. It can be used as rain coat as well. It almost saved me hurting big from an accidental fall as I was wear its hat (luckily). I got some bruise and the coat has some scratch, but nothing major.
So this has become my lucky coat and I'm wearing it almost daily this winter.

Very practical everyday jacket!
This is a good winter jacket for the West coast. It doesn't get very cold here but is wet or windy all the time. The hood is especially good in the rain. The fit is a bit snug compared to the squall parka but enough for one sweater underneath. If you get the all black one beware there's nothing reflective on it, so walking at night can be a bit risky.

Disappointment...
Poor quality. I received it with a defect in the top of the sleeves. In the shoulder area between the top and the insulation around the hand was a strip of waterproof fabric of smaller diameter than the sleeve, so I couldn't push my hand in the sleeve. Had to go to a tailor to dismiss the sleeve and cut a strip of cloth. But jacket looks good.

very good jacket when on sale
This is a rare type of jacket in that it is waterproof and insulated without being a huge bulky parka. It compresses well for packing, and it has nice features -- a handy all-purpose grab jacket. I would prefer it more if it had a fleece collar rather than the stiff slick nylon. Also note that the inside jacket surface is shiny quilted nylon or polyester (not fleece or lined), which sadly more resembles a tacky cheapo kid jacket than a modern hi-tech one.

Snug in the arms. Well made.
This jacket is well made and looks good but somewhat tight in the arms vs other LE jackets. The temperature rating is, in my opinion, significantly lower than it should be. Insulation is modest.

Warmest light all-weather jacket I've owned
This may not be the warmest jacket on the planet, but it is very warm for its weight. I hate "michelin man" bulk, especially when driving. I also wanted an insulated hood, and this fits the bill so well that I ordered another in a different color. I did purchase the expedition jacket last year for the super-cold snaps (haven't had one yet this year). The fit of this jacket is what I like the best---trim but enough room for light layering, which is recommended for temperatures below freezing, unless you're actually skiing in it and generating more heat. The hood has no awkward "dog ear" flaps. It's great in cold rain, and has plenty of pockets. I really like the quilted lining throughout--easy on/off and the hood doesn't leave you with a new hair style! Great value at the clearance price---could stand slightly better materials, but I'm not disappointed.

Very Nice
I can't comment much on the fit because we ordered this big to fit our son. He would normally wear an adult small, so we ordered a medium, hoping to get more than one year out of this coat. It fits big, as expected, but it is not TOO big. Just about right for 2 years (we hope!) I cannot believe how thin it is! I thought I bought the wrong coat for a minute. Our son is thrilled, as he specifically requested something that was not bulky. The construction seems very nice and very durable...just what we have come to expect from LE.
