Excellent initial impression, poor durability.
Heavier fabric than the regular indigo-dyed jeans. For me, at least, they fit well and felt fine for the first few wearings. However, the fabric is wearing out on the front of the thighs much more quickly than the regular indigo-dyed denim jeans. Bought two pair along with two pair of regular denim jeans. These show visible broken threads on the front of the thighs on both pair; the normal denim jeans (which are a lighter fabric) still look new. This is after 14 months with these four pairs of pants being worn in rotation, so all should have about the same amount of wear.
I conclude that sanding the fabric makes it feel much softer, but can very easily be taken too far; I suspect that some customers will get the expected wear out of a pair of these jeans, while others will have my experience - no more than about four months of constant daily wear before they are no longer suitable for anything beyond gardening or housework. (And I've got lots of older pairs of jeans that are too battered to be worn in public!)

semi hip huggers
Have bought Landsend jeans for a long long time, they used to offer more options such as long rise which was great for me since I am six foot three. The colored jeans are indeed five pocket style, although as others have said in their reviews the fabric is not denim, it is very soft, brushed and somewhat light weight compared to what you might expect from denim jeans......that being said, the fabric is very nice in terms of dress pants.
The reason I sent these pant back is that they are nearly hip huggers, the crotch is very shallow, the waist band rides low, is no where near my waist.
NOTE: Even i I were not a tall person, I doubt that these pants will fit you unless you are wanting a low riding waist band.

Best jeans ever!
These are the most comfortable jeans I've ever owned. I have 6 pairs and just ordered 2 more. The colors are awesome. They are unbelievably soft. I wear them to work almost every day, and they look fantastic.

Only Jeans I buy
Consistent fit, every time. The only denim I buy. Been ordering for a decade or more, will keep ordering as long as they exist and the quality stays right where it is.

Best pants I can find for a picky husband.
This khaki color was just right, not too dark or too light. He likes the feel of the material and great sale price, We thank you for that. I bought 2 pairs and since he liked them so well I purchased a 3rd pair. These pants usually last him one year when I buy him 2 pairs. He wears them all year round. He does both office work and hands on labor in the plant so that is very good for him. He likes deep pockets and says theses are okay. His one complaint is that the waist does not sit high enough.

excellent quality product
Bought these for my husband. True fit. Quality material. Well made. For a pair of jeans, I would say they are more like upscale or business casual wear.

Nice looking pants
I was hoping to get some jeans that my husband might be able to wear to work sometimes. These look very nice out of the package. They did fit a bit snugly for relaxed fit, but he liked them. I don't know how they wash, but I hope they're the same quality as previous LE purchases.

Rise too low
The fabric is sturdy and comfortable. However the rise was too low. The product was advertised to fit at the waist, but the waist band was about 2 inches below my waist. Returned the slacks.
