These are improved over the previous version.
Fit was good, nice sheen and finish.

Very disappointing.
I was annoyed when Lands' End discontinued the long rise/tall trousers early last year. While I found another source for dress pants, I missed (1) the choice of colors that LE had, (2) the chance to get an exact inseam, and (3) cuffs if I wanted them. When I saw that they were available again, I was please. I was prepared for the new long rise twills to be a bit different. But these are *very* different--they are much tighter in the seat, hip, and crotch.
If you like the regular twills and need a very little bit more room, then these might be for you. But if you liked the old long rise twills and are hoping to replace them, you may be very disappointed.

Not as good as they used to be
Not nearly as good as the previous batch. After waiting many months for the long rise no-iron dress twill trousers to be available, it seems that they are now made somewhere else and they do not feel like long rise at all.
Material is also coarser than it was previously.

TALL IS NO LONGER TALL.
The "new tall" is new all right -- it is too tight/short in the crouch. Disappointing since we were trying to replace a few pairs of my husband's Lands End pants in 34 Long.
Time to return. Time to find a new store.

Style good, but can't recommend long rise version.
Overall, the fit and finish were good. The long rise version in traditional fit were uncomfortable, though. The rise itself was acceptable, but could have been a bit longer. The problem was in the seam running from the crotch to the rear of the seat up to the waist. It felt like I was wearing a thong.
I had ordered a pair of long-rise traditional fit chinos a couple of weeks prior, and they were fine.
LE - thanks for bringing back the long rise pants. In this style, though, more room in the vertical seam in the rear seat would be a big plus.

Runs smaller in seat than the same style pants from 2-3 years ago
Long time, very loyal LE customer, typically making substantial purchases every year or so. I ordered these as soon as I saw LE had changed back to the previous style for the pleat front, traditional fit, no iron twill dress pants, which are the best I'd previously found at any price. These have previously been my favorite work and casual pants due to their great comfort. Needed new ones due to general wear from wearing them so often, even though I have 6 or 7 pairs.
I ordered exactly the same size, men's long, pleat front, 38 waist, traditional fit, 33.5" cuff as my prior orders, went online to check what I'd ordered.
I am very disappointed about one issue and will have to return them, even though I need some new dress khaki twills. They are definitely tighter in the seat, so much that they are unwearable. Obvious immediately. You can see my underwear through the pants they are so tight, and they are uncomfortable. They are also tighter in the thigh and crotch. When I sit, they are snug around my relatively fit thighs. I put on the same pants from 2010 and 2011, and despite being washed multiple times, the old ones are not tight in the seat, thigh, or groin, and fit perfectly. My old pants have about 2" of loose material at the mid-thigh when I'm seated.
The new pants are marked as traditional fit and long, as I've ordered previously. I tried a couple pairs of the new pants, and they are consistently small in the seat and thigh.
The styles are nearly the same. They are now made in Vietnam rather than Indonesia. Rear pockets are button through without a flap. Front pockets are off the side seam, and pockets remain deep. The zipper is said to be "upgraded", now metal over a plasticy YKK zipper that seemed to be fine. It is definitely beefier with larger teeth. One new upgrade is that the seat seam is now taped on the ends. The hanger loop is larger and easier to use.
If I can get these in a larger seat and thigh comparable to my prior LE dress twills, these are a 5 out of 5, but I am unable to wear this new cut. I gave them a 2 as a rating was required, but seems to overly simplify the issue.
Lands' End, please bring back the exact cut of the 2010-2011 NI, pleat front, Trad Fit, Long twill dress pants. Don't mess with something you had so right.
Thanks,
JG
