Description

From Ireland’s linen experts.

  • Breathable, pure-linen fabric by Baird McNutt
  • Beautiful classic patterns
  • Thoroughly well made for comfort and durability

  • Plain front

Prized for its cool elegance since the days of the Pharaohs, linen must be created with great care to bring out its natural beauty. Flax — the fiber from which linen is woven — can’t be rushed, or it becomes coarse or brittle. And then couldn’t be spun and woven into this soft, silky fabric.

Since the 13th century, the finest linen has been made in Ireland, and this fabric is from Baird McNutt, Ireland’s foremost linen mill. Their 100 years of experience and reputation for quality are unrivaled. And it shows in the fine quality of these pants. We add a few touches of our own, going all out on tailoring. These include a Ban-Rol® waistband, back V-notch indicating the waist’s alterability, suspender buttons and a coin pocket — plus every other feature you expect from Lands’ End® trousers. 100% linen. Dry clean. Imported.

The color is not what is in the photo The pants are nice but the color does not match the photo. The color is gold. The color is not what I expected. May 8, 2013
Perfect fit, Great fabric Fit was perfect, true to size. Tailoring of hem is an added benefit and was right on. Fabric even though lilnen, was soft and had a good weight to it. Lots of compliments on them. April 28, 2013
unique and timeless Interesting, unique, somewhat coarse texture. Good weight, elegant while also timeless. April 27, 2013
Pants perfect for the shorts and jacket that I had previously purchased. The pants fit true to size. I am very happy with most of my Lands End purchases. September 3, 2012
Machine wash/dry and shrink to fit I purchased the goldish herringbone pants in 32"-36" and put then through a gentle cold regular washer/dryer cycle a few times. They shrank noticeably evenly in length only. The waist is a little lower (designed higher) and the legs are now almost 32" The gold color has faded and not it closer to the color online. They are rumply and look very casual without the pleat, but not like pajamas, like something for a casual day at the beach. If you do this and want the pleat, don't put them in the dryer and iron when damp (never dry). July 15, 2012
colors off, pant cut and fabric awesome The glen plaid is funky. Sort of christmasy? There is a neon green stripe, gold, brown, and orangish red. They look like golfing pants. The herringbone pant is not as pictured and the color of an tarnished chunk of raw gold or micah (think dirty gold). Not a great color for me, but I will keep this pair because the fit is fantastic. They are cut for a man with no-little rear, but really flatter my medium round one. They are designed to be worn higher (just below belly button) than most of my pants (on hips), but I like this style because it gives them a 1920's appeal, which is on trend at present. July 14, 2012
Good pants, bad jacket I like the pants and will keep them. They're a somewhat casual cut and a bit roomy, but not bad. Unfortunately, I also bought the matching jacket, which is going back. The jacket is in the style of a 1970's professor, minus the elbow patches, and is also too long in the body -- people under 6' won't look right in the jacket. So buy these as pants, but not as part of a suit. June 25, 2012
