They nailed it with the fit.
The fit is great, the length is great, the fabric is thick.

My husband's new favorite pair of pants!
I will shortly be purchasing at least one additional pair of these chinos, as my husband is well on his way to loving his current pair to death. He claims they are the best fitting and comfortable pair of trousers he's owned, which explains why he only wears his other pants if these ones are in the wash. He is a pretty slim 5'8" and 145 lbs, and the tailored fit is perfect on him. The fabric is great, definitely durable but still classy enough for most casual-dressy events. Minimal fuss, too; just hang them up right out of the dryer and they stay wrinkle-free. I have been ordering clothes from Land's End for years, and I'll be the first to admit that sometimes the cut or fabric of a particular piece doesn't quite hit the mark, but this one definitely deserves five stars. (Sails!)

Finally found the chinos I've been looking for
I have been on a quest of sorts, trying to find a pair of chinos that met my personal requirements. I initially avoided these pants because of the flapped back pockets and worked my way through many different brands and styles. I finally decided to try these and now I'm kicking myself for not buying these sooner. Here are the qualities that these pants hit on:
1. Trim fit, not super-slim, not skinny. They are flattering, comfortable, and have an appropriate leg opening
2. Medium rise. Seems to be getting harder and harder to find a pair of trim pants that aren't low-rise
3. Heavy fabric. These chinos are made of a nice medium weight fabric. May not be wearable in the dog days of summer but will work for the other 3 seasons. Also feels like cotton, none of that sueded fabric that looks cheap
My only qualm are the flapped rear pockets that make these look even more casual. Not a big deal though as they can be easily tucked in.
Bottom line: a nice pair of chinos with great fit that can easily be dressed up or down. Will be buying more soon!

Don't Get Dijon!
The pants were a great fit on my husband, but the color was absolutely horrible! It was a bilious bright gold color and just looked too much like a clown on him. We returned them promptly!

These pants are the perfect fit.
It's difficult to find ready made pants that are size 37 x 291/2 and tailored fit. They fit perfectly, the color is great, and they wash and wear well. If I need to find a negative, it's that the fabric is a bit heavy for someone who lives in southwest Florida year round. However, since I have three pairs of these, this is something I can live with, and getting the right size and fit is the most important thing. I would definitely recommend these pants.

Nice fit and size
I like the material, color (very hard to find the right blue shade), and fit of the pants. The fabric is softer than regular chinos but not razed to give it casual look. The beauty of this fabric is that you could dress-up during the day and dress down for the casual evening dinners. I like the pants and will be ordering more colors.

Terrible
Not well made. Sloppy pockets. All in all a bad product. Back it went.

Great color, great fit.
Great products from Lands End in colors you can't find elsewhere.

Nice Fit
Pants fit nicely, and the ability to order an inseam in quarter-inch increments is a definite plus. I would prefer that the waist ride a smidge lower.

Nice pants, much longer than ordered
I ordered these in 32 waist, 28 length. The waist is *perfect*, but they were far too long. I took them (ordered two pairs) to a local tailor and he measured them to be 32 inches. Unfortunately he then tailored them about an inch too short. Nice pants, the tailored fit is great with the chinos and cords, but I've pants I've ordered from Lands End are consistently too long. At least they're consistent, I guess. I admit my review is a bit colored by the fact that I had to get three pairs of these tailored and lost two to bad tailoring: if the length came as specified I'd give these a five hands down.
